About collabs. It really depends on what you are going for with the collab.
There are the simpler kind. Where you both draw either one of the others character, or the other way around. Whoever finishes first, or whoever wants to start it, draws their side, then sends that via PM or e-mail to the other person, they add their half in. Either send back a finished a copy, or they upload it to their channel. And you can upload that file to your channel or page.
Say I wanted to (wouldn't mind actually) I asked you to draw Rien. And then you would ask me to draw one of your chars. Since I asked, or came to you, I should start it, unless you say you want to start it. Try to have a themed idea, like Christmas. You or me, who decided to go first would do their side, and send that to the me. I would then do my half, save that file, and then send the finished file back, and then maybe upload it to my page as well. You could upload it to your page you would want to or not. And that would essentially be a basically collab process. Sounds harder than it actually is lol.
Then you got more complicated ones where one could do the lining, the other sketches, even a third or fourth could colour, shade, light, do a background, etc. That is near endless.
This journal is nearly a year old now, I didn't think anyone would be commenting on it. Not that it's a bad thing, though. o':
It's still a little confusing to me, even after that detailed explanation you gave me. Since I don't have the expensive programs like Photoshop, any drawings that I copy and paste into my program will have it's background. If it doesn't have a background, the ''box'' around it would be white, or black if it was transparent. That might make doing a collab a little harder, unless the other person do that part.
On the simple collabs, what if the two wanted to do a background? Would one do all of the ground while the other does the sky? Or does one do the entire background on their side, while the other does the entire background on theirs?

You ought to be able to get Gimp or Paint Tool SAI, and I can send you PS7 with serial code if you want that. It's what I use in my speed paints. One person normally would do the entire background. Though one could do the line-art for it, and the other follow that line-art for it and turn it into a full background. There are a lot of options and such to collabs.
I'm game for one, certainly stressed out with other things going on, a collab ought to do a lot of good.
I might consider Gimp, since I am pretty sure it's free. As for Paint Tool SAI, there's the free trial. But I don't want to get used to it then get upset when it's over since I don't plan on buying it. At least for now. I wouldn't do the PS7 thing to you. All it does for me is stress me out and make me feel guilty. ;o;
That makes sense, with the background. I assume having a foreground with it works the same way?
As long as we can work out the whole background issue, we can set one up. :>

I don't get through change very easily, and getting photoshop is a pretty big thing. At least for me. Switching programs for some reason stresses me out. And I'd feel guilty just because I didn't buy it, so I'd feel like I would need to pay the person back, which I cannot do. So it's best for me not to take the offer. But I appreciate it. c:
True that. All the PS's have the same options, but how they are arranged is ridiculously different. I like PS7's the best, and to me is is most user friendly of them. Since it option arrangement makes sense. My family is like we pay for the internet, we should be able to get what we want from it for free afterwards. Though, I get where your coming from that.
And sure! I could draw her! Like her design anyway, so win win!
I'm game on a Winter theme. Might add a background now, after the characters are done of course. And snow is something I really need to work on with background anyway. The snowmen builders of snowmen with random stuff as the decorations?
Can't wait to see it! I can make the bg of your side transparent rather quickly. Also, put a mark for where ya want the light source of the picture too, if you care for that. XD
I hope adding the scarf and winter hat was alright. o': I added a light sketch of an idea for a background, as well as a light source/where the sun can be.
