It fit him so well given his current situation. I have no clue if this is accurate to Lightning Territory on layout, but this is what it is supposed to be. ^^ So after he got Chioni and her family back into their territory, he chooses to go back and face the Hunters with the "mistake" he made. So he's really thinking about his own family now... something he didn't exactly do before he did the act. So he is having regret, but he is the type to face his problems, after a year of running, and meeting Al made him face his problems. To Herne that was the best thing he has done, and that is how he deals with issues, he faces them. Accepting the fact he could be walking into his death, but that is Herne. Courageous to the point of "stupidity." Though he doesn't get that far... which makes him think on this even more, having even more regret, now he not only broke one if not several of the highest rules of the Hunters, he was a captive by the enemies of the Hunters. Funny to him was the fact that twelve hours earlier he was watching the cub Riina, someone he couldn't forget with the hum she had, and how much that helped him. So now he would likely rely on that hum to keep his sanity.
