Ivory

Ivory padded out of where she was laying under a shady tree. Leaves landed on her one by one and got her annoyed. So she got up and walked out looking for something else to do than lay around with nothing to do. With nothing interesting in sight she shrugged and layed under another tree. Good thing there weren't any leaves falling!

Herne

Meanwhile, as Ivory moved from one tree to the next, a golden caracal was in the next tree she chose to lay under. He had watched her get up and move from the first tree, likely due to the leaves he had thought.
So... he hatched a glorious plan, certainly not a bright plan.
There was some wind rustling the trees, so he could get away with it, if he wasn't seen.
He then began plucking leaves from the tree and dropping them down.

Ivory

Ivory huffed as she felt a leaf touch her. She looked up the tree. "That's weird. It wasn't dropping leaves before..." She suspected it was a cat or a squirrel or somethin. She growled lowly. She sniffed the air. Definitely a cat. "Yo. I can smell you up there. Now stop dropping them leaves unless you want my claws in your face." She joked.

Herne

That didn't take much, Herne thought, it was what five leaves?
Then the cheetah called out to him, obviously unable to see him, he made another ownry move, egging for a bit or trouble.
He grabbed another leaf, and then bluntly stuck his paw into the open, and let go of it.
Then stuck his head out, making a crooked, smug smile.

Ivory

Ivory got up and narrowed her eyes. "You wanna go bro?!" She said a bit annoyed. She leaped up onto a tree branch and onto another reaching him. She was now standing behind him looking at him sternly. "Now, sweetie, ya dun mess with a king cheetah aight?" She said in a deep toned voice but not to serious.

Herne

Herne spun around as she came up the tree continued his smug smile.
He clearly showed no sign of fighting, but definitely ownriness.
"What are ya gonna do pansy!" he remarked to her, clearly wanting her to try and chase him or something.
We're winging it here audience, so I really don't know what's next.

Ivory

Ivory growled in annoyance. "Oh ya lil kitty, you don't really wanna mess with me. Trust me." She said with a smirk. She grabbed his tail and dragged him down the tree. She then let go at the bottom. "Now, run along." She said with a crooked smile spread across her face.

Herne

Rather than running along immediately as she told him to, he replied with a solid pounce to her, enough to push her off her feet before taking a large jump right back into the tree, a couple branches higher than he was originally.
"I'd rather be a peaster today, honestly," he chimmed at her, "so... what are ya gonna do?" he challenged her, with his ear perked up.

Ivory

Ivory growled. "Okay mister you took it way to far this time." She said as she pounced up the tree. She swiped at him and head butted him to get him off the tree.

Herne

Herne backed up enough to avoid her swipe, but quite for her head-butt.
Herne did however, use her head-butt to fly a couple feet back and landing on the ground, giving him a bit room to do something and he chose to hike right back into tree, fumbling her out out it the same way.

Ivory

Ivory nearly fell but emanated to balance right before she actually flipped over. Pushing herself back she kicked him with her hind legs not too hard to hurt him but hard enough to get him to hit the tree trunk behind him.

Herne

Herne let out a hard scoff as he smacked the tree, but didn't let it slow him any.
He retaliated by lunging forward enough to get close the cheetah, but not close enough to actually get hit or something, testing his grounds basically.

Ivory

As he looked as if he were bout to smack right into Ivory and knock her out of the tree she jumped over and onto a higher beach getting more into the leaves. They were so irritating but she'd have to deal with it for now. Her expression then softened for some reason.

Herne

Herne was right behind her as he spun about as she jumped over, and she landed above, he wasted no time to pounce right up at her, as she turned to show a softened expression. That was short-lived as he smacked right into her, causing them to fall to the ground.

Ivory

As they fell, to the ground landing with a thud, Ivory groaned. She pushed away from Herne with a weird look on her face. She turned around to face him. "Ok. What happened up there?" She asked him considering he smacked right into her.

Herne

After thudding, and oofing on impact.
And after the cheetah spoke, Herne said, "Me smacking into you? Or what?" he paused, "either way, I got ya," he said, smiling as he sat up.

Ivory

Ivory smirked. "Yes, you smacking into me." She looked at him and chuckled. "Pfft, I'll let you have the glory just this once. So enjoy it while you can." She laughed.

Herne

"Just once?" he said as his shoulders fell a little, "that was all? expected more." he said as he shoed some leaves at her, "no one's got that much to do, and you were layin' around," he added in, definitely wanting to know of her.
Plus she was the first here that did stuff that he really didn't expect, when it comes to chasing and wrestling. He has never fought a cheetah before, partly why he teased her.

Ivory

"There is more. But I can't hurt you so..." She grinned. She then swiped the leaves away with her paw. "Yea I know right? It's like this place was drained of fun." She said.
She looked at him. "So what'dya do? Annoy cats?" She joked.

Herne

"Sounds you don't like getting dirty," Herne remarked to her first statement, and rose his eye brow to her second statement.
He gave a slight smirk before saying back, "You'd be the first to be honest," he claimed, "but it could become a standard skit."
He stood to his feet, she was certainly bigger than him, but ehh, size doesn't mean much to him.
"I'm Herne," he greeted, "pestering you is fun though."

Ivory

"Pffft, I would if I was allowed to. So consider yourself lucky." She laughed. She then tilted her head slightly. "Yea I guess so." She gave him a quick tongue out like she used to do to other cats as a child. "Ivory. Nice--Fun meeting you, Herne." She smirked. She then rolled her eyes. "Yea, I heard." She joked.

Herne

"What stopped you from swipin at me out of the gate?" Herne asked her, sarcastically, but slightly in a serious tone before her childish tongue was aimed at him.
"That's mature," he said to her, "but hey, what do I care, I do this," he then gave a very good stink eye.
It's like Bucks's stink eye from Ice Age 3.
"So what are you up to?" he asked her, more seriously, "definitely give me something to do."

Ivory

She looked at him sternly. "Oh, you just reminded me of someone I loved as part of my family. But he's gone now." She said in a sad tone. Her mood came back up after he responded to her childish act. She laughed. "I know right." She chuckled. "Eh nothing really." She said looking around. A idea popped into her mind. "Hey you seem like a cat who'd like to see cats we've captured. We have a few in the cages." She said smiling. "Wanna come and see them? They may be angry, so watch out." She joked.

Herne

Herne could tell by her tone, she reffered to loss.
She covered it up quickly, since it obviously was something very hard on her, and he could staying on the topic wasn't a wise choice, so he said nothing.
"Actually yeah," Herne let out, but then added in on her second statement, lowly to himself "they were kidnapped after all, so couldn't imagine why," they began to walk, and he asked, "so why are those Empire Cats captured?"

Ivory

As they walked she spoke. "They get too close and sometimes ambushing us during our patrols. Psh, I almost got ambushed once during patrol." She sighed then continued. "Those empire cats see, don't like us hunters very much. Because we're associated with humans they refer to us as traitors. Humans used to kill us cats and take our pelts for coats, rugs, anything that our pelts can be used for." She said. "So they continue to use to try and defeat us. But it's no use as you can see." She looked around as they entered the rows of cages a few containing angry cats wanting escape. "They just end up loosing gladiators as they call them or even apprentices. Some come by thinking they're all mighty and can stand up to us alone. And look what happens. They end up in a cage." She said walking towards a certain one that contained a lioness. "Come here." She said looking the lioness in the eyes. The lioness's eyes filled with fury and crave to escape. "Don't get to close. This ones not very friendly to us hunters. Even when we've captured her already." She said. The lioness slashed out trying to reach Ivory and Herne with her claws. She roared and growled baring her sharp fangs and teeth.

Herne

During one her Ivory's pauses and as they entered the corridors, Herne said, "I can see them not liking the humans, but I'm not huge fan of them myself," Herne then scoffed a bit at that, "my dad said that all animals looked up to man," he said as they got closer to one of the cages.
"What captive would be friendly?" Herne said aloud, slightly making the lioness ease up for a second, but then continued lashing at them.
Herne looked down a bit, yeah the lioness was acting very feral, but who wouldn't try so hard to get free.
He looked at Ivory and asked, "Why is she captured? Like was she wanted or something like that? Or is that type of stuff not kept track of?"

Ivory

"I don't think any captive will be friendly." She said looking sternly at the lioness. Ivory shook her head. "She was caught wandering around the walls of our territory. Apparently she jumped onto it and was face to face with one of our hunters. I heard it was Jasper who captured this one." She said.
"He will regret capturing me and everyone else behind these bars when our fellow cats come to rescue us!!" The lioness growled in a rough angry voice. "Not gonna happen Hun." Ivory said.

Herne

"Hmm..." Herne said, knowing if she were to get loose, there would be fighting, but still did feel sorry for her, in some way. Curious why she wandered so close, likely a scouting event or something.
They walked onward after as Herne asked, "What Empire was she from?" as they came up to another cage, but this one looked rather battered, and wasn't very combative.

Ivory

"Stone." She replied. Their next cat wasn't very nice but still wasn't combative and looked weak from being in the cages. "This snow leopard... I'm not sure why she was caught or by who but it looks like she didn't cause harm. She seems to be pregnant also." Ivory said.

Herne

Herne's eyes widen some.
"I really don't want to see birth," he said putting his paw over his face, "could why she looks so battered," he then started to walk onward.

Ivory

Ivory laughed. "Yea. Now do you know about this one she asked. "I've never seen this one before. Must've captured it recently." She said looking at the cat.

Herne

"Ironically, yes," Herne said, a bit surprised, "a loner. Attacked me the day I was caught for being a loner myself."
He looked at Ivory.

Ivory

Ivory tilted her head to the side. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked.

Herne

"Figured you'd have a few cents," Herne said as the striped feline growled at Herne.
"You?!" he growled, "you're lucky you got a lucky kick, you won't be lucky next time."
"You were warned," Herne said to the tiger, with a blunt tone, and shrugged his shoulders, "you chose to continue. So... your own flaw there. Unlike you, I know what I'm capable of, and well, you're not the first."

Ivory

Ivory watched as the two threw words back at each other. "You... know this cat?" She asked. "Is he a friend? Family? Or just someone you met who is now in these cages." She said overlooking the caged cat.

Herne

"Tried to take the place I lived at before being with Hunter," Herne said to Ivory, "also know you're very predictable," he said as he looked back over to the tiger, but then cut his attention back to Ivory, "anywhere else?"

Ivory

"Oh..." Ivory said. She looked at the tiger lifting a brow. "hrm..." She then turned back to Herne. "Hmm... I can't think of anywhere else except the colesium... where we used to fight. Maybe some cats still do but for me, that was my past in there." She said.

Herne

"Not a place I like either... sucks when you get drafted," Herne said to her, as they start off down the corridors some more, but then he asked, "did you have any close calls there or something? Kinda seems like it."

Ivory

She looked at him. "Yea, A VERY close call... I almost got killed." She said as she looked up ahead. "She had me by the throat." She sounded as if she were being choked at the moment too but wasn't? It's hard to explain but, Ivory always had a fear of being killed when she was up against another.

Herne

"How did you get out of it?" Herne asked her, curious about the event.

Ivory

Ivory smiled slightly. "With a little help of my handy dandy back legs and my claws. I reacted just in time. When she was going to kill me I kicked up wards hitting her jaw which made her stumble back. She I slashed through her little weak flesh." She said with a crooked smile.

Herne

"Ya know that you can get your front leg in front of your neck, if you're quick enough," Herne said to her, "sure it will likely injure your leg, but they can't crush your throat, something I did once by accident, in a similar situation with one of my first fights."

Ivory

Ivory nodded. "Yes I know that. But this was a fight to the death. I wasn't gonna let her bite my paw and weaken me." She said sternly. "When you become a gladiator, You'll know what it's really like to fight cats." She said.

Herne

"I'd honestly deal with a hindrance than be well..." he paused briefly, "dead. Certainly no stranger to it," he remarked with a darker tone.

Ivory

Ivory nodded. "Ya think? Me too. But it's what we do. We have to do it to protect each other and out the empire." She explained. "I don't intended to kill cats unless they take it too far and I have to. Or if they don't give up either. I just try to scare them off but end up capturing them." She said.

Herne

"Then I hope to never get put in a death fight," Herne said to her, "I really don't think I would be able to, defending myself sure, but not kill another, regardless," he said, looking away from Ivory as they approached their next destination, "have far too much of it, and refuse to be among it," he then stopped, thinking about various things.

Ivory

Ivory shook her head slightly. "You ARE going to be put into a death fight at one point of your life. At least once." She said. "Of course you'll be able to defended yourself. Defense is in our souls bro." She joked. As he stopped she noticed as she walked a bit ahead of him then turned around. "What? Something on your mind?" She asked.

Herne

"Hmmm," he murmured under his breath.
He looked up at Ivory and uttered with a rather hardened tone, "All death and violence do is bring more of it. Why don't we try and do something else?" he paused, cutting his eyes away from her, "like... why do we have to kill another. It's a rather pointless goose-chase," he shrugged, and then glanced back to her.

Ivory

Ivory nodded. "I agree.." She sighed. "But it's what our leaders have decided to make us as. If I had a choice, I wouldn't kill. I'd at least try to be friends with other cats." She said. "But it's not like that.." She said.

Herne

"Personally, I think we still have those choices," Herne said to her with a stern tone, "they have to have the same mind-set themselves though too," he added.
He took a step, and then thought aloud.
"I really don't care if I get trouble for standing up for what I believe," then he started walked again, "I'm being trained to be a Hunter, not a killer. So I will be a Hunter, and nothing less than that."

Ivory

Ivory smiled. "You sure know your talk, kid." She said as she walked alongside him. "And yes. We do have our own minds and we can make our own choices. But, they choose to attack us. We get ambushed, attacked by empire cats sometimes. And I think go against each other too. We hunters aren't the ones starting the fights." She said.

Herne

Herne couldn't help but let out a small smirk as they padded forward.
"Reckon that neither side has actually let the other side know," he muttered lowly as he glanced around, "I've heard some stories that Hunters have left and went to the Empires, and vis versa, wondering why on that a lot, but seems like a wasted questioned."

Ivory

Ivory shrugged. "I don't know what to do kid. I'm not in charge here. I do what the leader says, and I just stay doing my job." She said. "Maybe one day you might be able to change things around here." She said as she patted him on the back.

Herne

Herne gave a nod, referring to both Ivory's statements.
"It's gotta start somewhere," he muttered softly as the wrapped around the corner of a four-way corridor.
And from the corridor they wrapped into, you could here a crowd making noise, and not too far ahead was a set of bars. Herne wondered what they were for, but from what he has heard, he had an idea on what.

Ivory

Ivory turned to where Herne had turned and her ears rose. "You hear that right?" She said sniffing ahead of them. "More cats down there... I think?" She said walking down the corridor. "Wanna check it out? I sure do." She said. "I don't really come down here often so, might be interesting to see what's down here." She explained.

Herne

"Yeah, I hear it," Herne said.
She then sniffed the air after that and asked a following question.
"Ehh, why not." Herne remarked to her question and then they went towards it.

Ivory

Ivory nodded as they went through the corridor. She looked around the corner to reveal many cats. And these looked like they've been here for years. Like the empires they came from couldn't find them and thought they were dead. "Dang... these kitties looked terrified and weak.." She said looking around.

Herne

Herne's gutt turned at the sight of all the cats, how are humans capable of doing this? he thought to himself.
Herne personally wanted to help them, but what could he do?
"Geez..." he said lowly as they walked through the long corridor.
Herne was at a loss of words from the level of turmoil they walked through. There were cats a lot worse off than he was. But the golden caracal's position was no great position, the humans expected him to be capable of doing the very thing.
There was no way he could do things like this.
He looked ahead to Ivory who had a very similar facial expression on her face.

Ivory

"I--I didn't think we did things like THIS..." She said. "I think this is where they keep the most valued cats... so they can never reach their families again.." She said with cracks in her voice. "Sorry I just never seen anything like this before. Especially to cats. We're the same.." She said looking down trying to think. "Why do we do this? We're all cats right? We shouldn't be going against each other. We should be united and working together!" She said looking to Herne. "Right?" She asked her head turned to the side a bit.

Herne

"Yeah," Herne said back, "this is dead wrong," his voice tone dropped some as he had to really try to keep himself together, "shouldn't we do something?"

Ivory

Ivory nodded. "Probably. But we'd most likely just end up in trouble for standing up for EMPIRE CATS. They're wild. So we aren't supposed to like them apparently but, I think differently..." She protested. "C'mon lets get outta here. The sight of these cats are giving me shivers." She said worriedly as she walked out of the corridor.

Herne

Herne himself was more than okay with getting into trouble, but letting this many cats go at the moment, no one would get far, most of them would likely get killed. So leaving them for the time was the best option.
Herne nodded to her and they head out the other end of the corridor, which lead them to an area where cats were dispensed into the arena to fight. Something neither of them wanted anything to do with. So they made turn at the nearby corridor junction.

Ivory

As they walked Ivory opened her mouth and spoke. "So, do you wanna do anything?" She looked up thinking if she had anything in her mind. "I got nothin'" She said.

Herne

"To get my mind of that," Herne said, "anything really..." they walked a bit further, "you fish any?" he asked her, since it was something he was good at doing, plus he personally found some comfort hunting fish.

Ivory

Ivory nodded in agreement. She then perked her ears at the sound of 'fish.' "Are you kidding? I love fishing!" She said smiling. "It's fun and the fish are gooodddd." She laughed. "Let's goooo!" She said bounding out.

Herne

Herne had a sigh of relief, as he bounded off, following her.
"So?" he said, actually managing to keep up with the cheetah, but had a feeling she was quickly going to escalate things a bit for them, "you have a spot picked out already?"

Ivory

She looked at him while jogging. "Yup! It's a great spot. There's lots of fish there!" She said. "It's at a lake that has nice water and rocks you can stand on so you're closer to the fish as they swim by." She said. As they got closer she stopped joggin and started to walk. "Gotta rest my legs for some fishinnngggg!" She said. She hasn't gone fishing in a while so she was a tad excited.

Herne

Turning out his hunch was wrong, for the time. They both slowed down to a walk.
"That ought to be fun," Herne said to her, with a smile on his face, her excitedness was rubbing off, "I typically dive in after them," Herne said to her.

Ivory

Ivory nodded and gasped when he said he dives in. "YOU DO?" She said with a wide smile. Her inner child was completely loose by now. "O-M-G. I've always wanted to dive in with someone!!" She said excitedly. "I used to do that all the time!" She said with a smile. She then nearly fell into the lake but quickly scrambled back. "Whoops! We're here though!" She said looking below at the many fish swimming every which way.

Herne

"That would have been quite the entrance," Herne remarked to Ivory, "so do you just blindly dive, or do ya want to get your fish with some precision? I wanna find a tree and have some fun from there," he glanced over, "which clearly isn't anything hard to find at a lake," he lifted his paw showing off the trees.

Ivory

Ivory shrugged. "As long as I get to dive in I'm cool with it." she said. She then nodded. "Yea, sounds good." She said jumping into one of the trees then leaning over the lake seeing many fishies~

Herne

Ivory beat Herne into a tree, but Herne wasn't in the tree more than a second before he leaped out the tree, diving face first into the water, and almost immediately popping his head back out, with a fish between his teeth.
"I sthink sthast's a recorsd," Herne chimmed up to Ivory, to whom had moved out of the tree yet.

Ivory

Ivory laughed. "Yea! Probably!" She grinned. "But watch this!" She said diving into the lake and popping up with 2 fish in her mouth. "swee?" She said talking through the flopping fish trying to escape in her mouth.

Herne

"Pfft~" Herne said he got caught in a bit of under-brush, making let his fish go, "Awww..." he said bluntly as he looked back to the cheetah, and said, "you're on for the most fish caught, now," he started to swim back shore after getting his leg free from the brush.

Ivory

"You're on." She said eyes narrowed playfully. She gobbled down the two fish that she had in her mouth. She then got out of the water and back onto a tree. She searched for a spot with the most fish crowded before Herne could find it. She finally spotted it with her keen eyesight and dove in grabbing as many fish as possible with her claws and jaw. In total she got 12 fish. 2 in each paw and 4 in her jaw.

Herne

"Really, belly flopping the fish?" he said to her from his tree at the moment, "how deep of a fish can you get?" he then looked down into the refracting water to see a very large fish.
The fish looked a few feet ahead, so he aimed a foot shy of it, and sprang up as high as he could as he knife-dived into the lake. He then didn't immediately come back up.

Ivory

As she got out of the water then recalling Herne's sentence. "Hey it worksed sdidn't its?" She said through the fish. As he dove into the water Ivory set her fish down and watched as he aimed for a big fish. She smiled as if cheering him on. But it suddenly made her worry when he didn't come back up immediately as usual.

Herne

From beneath the water, Herne broke the surface of the water and shot a good ten plus feet down, and having claws grab onto what was a very large fish, nearly his own size it was so big. The fish made a very fast swim away as his front claws stayed on it, pulling him along with it.
The caracal managed to bite the tail fin of the fish, slowing its very fast swim to a near crawl. From there, he bit it a bit higher up on its tail, to have a solid grip of the monster cod.

Ivory

Ivory looked into the water searching for a shadow of Herne. She saw it. He was attached to a large fish nearly his size. Ivory was a bit worried. Big fish, are strong fish. Since it was almost the size of Herne, he could get injured, maybe badly even. She stayed watching the shadows to give help if needed.

Herne

Within a few moments of going for the surface of the water, Herne broke the surface, with the fish flopping about, definitely giving the kid a hard time, but nothing he belief he couldn't handle himself, he then saw how far out into the water he actually was.
"Oy vey," he growled as he pulled the huge fish closer to the bank.
He didn't see Ivory at the time at all, since all of his attention was split between holding the fish, staying afloat as he got repeated smacked by the huge fish, and getting ashore with it.
This definitely shows how well he can swim and what he believe he can fish.

Ivory

Ivory sighed in relief at the sight of Herne's head popping up. Then seeing the large fish he had with him. He was a really good swimmer. That fish was trying to strain away but Herne still was able to handle it himself. "Herne!" She called. "Need help? The fish looks like it's givin' you a hard time!" She chuckled while saying so.

Herne

Making a couple grunts, asking for a bit help, Herne was basically swimming sideways now, this way, he was smacked far less by the fish. But getting water thrown around a lot.
Herne got close enough to make out a few words so she could hear him above the thrashing water, "Pleease!" he grunted as he kept tugging it onward.
This thing doesn't know when to quit! Herne had thought to himself.

Ivory

Ivory nodded and ran to where Herne was. She jumped down to a rock that was close enough so that she could reach Herne. She stretched out clawing at the fish to make it stop flopping around. She finally got her claws locked it in which just made the fish more frightened and it splashed more pulling her in the water. Her head bopped above the water as she tried biting the fish's spinal cord to make it stop moving. "Ok, I'm going to push you towards land and you hold onto the fish okay?" She said as she started pushing Herne and the fish towards land with her side paddling as hard as she could. This fish sure packed a punch.

Herne

Ivory flopped into the water, hitting Herne, knocking him under for a second, but he popped back up , with the fish still in his jaw. And saw that she had her claws in it.
He then gave a nod, however he managed to do so, and she began pushing on the fish herself, and they both now headed to shore with it.
Herne himself was definitely feeling worn out from that, but didn't let it show any as he kept his solid pace.

Ivory

Ivory looked towards the land. This was taking way too long. They would get tired by the time they would even reach land. This fish wasn't so easy. She let herself loose as she took a deep breath and went underwater pushing herself off a wall towards Herne bumping into him, giving him a decent length boost towards land. She hurt her side a bit but she needed to get Herne to land for his safety. She once again launched herself into Herne finally knocking him out of the water. Ivory let a breath out gasping for air.

Herne

Herne saw her disappear under the water, but figured she had a plan for it, and was going to try something. He was right, but not what he figured.
Within a couple moments of Ivory being under water, Herne was suddenly shoved forward, putting a good chunk of water up his nose, he didn't much time to do anything about it since he got shoved a good four to five times before he was rather close to the shore.
He let out a solid scoff, shooting water from his nose and teeth. As much as he liked to swim and fish, he didn't like to breathe the water.

Ivory

Ivory gave a final little push to help Herne. "Sorry bout that." She said not meaning to getting water in his nose and mouth. "At least we're out." She said looking at the fish. "That thing packs a punch." She added catching her breath. She padded out of the water as it hit her paws. She shook her pelt and layed down to get some rest.

Herne

The fish was flopping a bit on the shore, and Herne then drug the the fish over to a pile of rocks, and pushed a few large rocks onto its head, ceasing its movement.
"He was certainly bigger than I thought," Herne said to her, "was a bit deeper than I thought too," he looked at Ivory and said, "ehh, it worked, didn't it?" referring to her pushing him, "and certainly packs a punch."
He looked at the huge score they just got, but he was beat from getting the thing. So he had thoughts about actually eating the the thing, or part of it.
Even with them both, no way they both could gorge the thing down, and Ivory already had fish.
"So... what are we going to do with this huge thing?" he said to her.

Ivory

Ivory nodded. "Eh, I kinda expected it to be this deep." She shrugged. "Lots of lakes I go to are deeper sometimes." She said.
She looked at the fish to Herne's sentence. She shrugged. "Well, I guess eat it." She said smiling. "You might not believe it for a slender cheetah but, I can eat my fish and yours all by myself." She laughed. "To me, that bad boy is small.' She said. "And those are extra small." She said pointing to her fish stacked in a pile nearby. "My master gives Idetta and I these huge pieces of meat. It's sooooo good and juicy. You should try it sometime. Maybe I can sneak out a piece for ya someday" She said.

Herne

"We were rather close to shore," Herne said to her, "from only a few feet out, that was about ten-fifteen feet down."
I figured that much, Herne thought to himself.
"You are what, more than twice my size, and I've been this size for four moons now," he said to her, "that is maybe a week and a half of food for me." he admitted to her, "but that could be because I've lived solo most of my life," he claimed to her as he finally chose to shake off a bit, and then hopped down from the rocks he was on, after pushing the few onto the fish's head, and followed up with, "plus I'm not a fan of over eating any. And not surprised either. Big cats eat a heck of a lot more."

Ivory

Ivory laughed. "Well, I don't get fat because I always run. Every day ya know." She smiled. "Yea, we big cats have quite the appetite" she laughed. "So, what'dya say? Let's dig in?" She said bringing her pile of fish towards the large fish. She gobbled 2 or 3 down as she got them next to the large fish. She looked at the big fish. "We gonna tear this baby apart." She said patting it with a paw.

Herne

Herne smirked as she patted her paw on it, and gave sneered growl, ready to dig into the thing that partially drowned him. He wanted a bit of revenge on it, so delicious food would definitely suffice.
And at that, they dug into the huge fish.

Ivory

Ivory ripped a piece of the fish and swallowed it down barley chewing it. She would go back and forth from the small fish to the 'medium' but large fish. "This big one tastes better?" She said. "Hmm.. what kind is it.." She said looked at it.

Herne

Herne took a decent bite himself, and said back to her, "A cod. Typically hunt smaller ones," he said as he chewed his bite a bit before swallowing, "this one is a monster. Quite surprised it was here? They're normally only this big out in the ocean."

Ivory

"Interesting.." She said taking another bite of the fish. She shrugged. "Probably got its way in here by accident or something and got stuck here." She said. "Might be another next time if we do this again." She smiled.

Herne

"Possibly," Herne said himself, taking another bite as well, and there was definite bone crunch, "bwehh~" he scoffed a bit, "bone," he then took a bit in s lightly different spot so there were not many large bones.

Ivory

Ivory laughed. "And that's why you little kitties check first." She smirked. "I eat bones everyday in any meal." She sighed with a little laugh. "Yea, sometimes they scratch me but eh, I'm used to it by now." She grunted.

Herne

"Just because I'm smaller doesn't make me a kittie," he said to her, inside not a fan of the comment, "and besides, I caught the whopper."

Ivory

Ivory chuckled. "Pffff, with MY help. I could've gotten that thing myself." She said. "So HA." She joked.

Herne

"Sure..." Herne humourously sneered her way, "it pulled you in the water like a rag doll."
He chomped another bite down.
"So if anyone get the Ha," he swallowed, "dis guy gets it," he aimed at the fish, "very short lived ha, but a ha."
He took another bite of the thing.

Ivory

Ivory ripped another chunk of flesh and swallowed it licking her lips. "That's because I didn't know how strong it was yet." She scoffed. "If I knew, I wouldn't have got pulled in." She said.
"Buttttt, I gotta admit it does get the ha." She said taking another bite.

Herne

With the fish nearing its end, Herne took his last bite, leaving the rest for Ivory to finish off, since he himself was full enough for his personal standard. He's never one to gorge himself.
The caracal looked around a bit, really unsure what to do with the rest of his day. He personally liked Ivory a lot, and would rather do something else with her.
So he asked her, "You have any other plans for the day?"
He chose to take a fast dive into the water, since it was a faster way of cleaning off than the traditional way, which was a near useless thing for him. His tongue wasn't rough like another cat's.
He hopped back out of the water, dripping some water, and grinned.

Ivory

Ivory took the last bites of the fish in delight. The blood of the fish around her mouth. She licked it off but it still stained a bit.
She looked at Herne and shrugged. "Not really. You? We can maybe go outside the city. That would make my day." She smiled. She loved to adventure outside of the city. Plus, she could handle it anyway.
As Herne dived into the water and came back out dripping wet, she did the same. She too personally didn't like cleaning herself with her tongue even thought it WAS rough. It wastes time as she thinks. She swam for a minute or so and came out dripping wet too. She shook her pelt and she floofed up. She groaned and rolled her eyes. "I hate when this happens." She said looking to Herne. "Am I too fluffy? Does it make me look fat?" She asked while laughing slightly.

Herne

"I wouldn't say fat," Herne said to her, "poofed is certainly better than super thick fur," he said, complaining about his own fur, "my fur looks thin, it isn't."
Then he shook off, his fur still sagged a lot.
"As you can see," he said to her, "it's fine when it's cold, which is honestly due this time of year, isn't it?"
"I'm certainly for going outside the city!" the caracal let out excitedly, having a bit of a hard rasp in his voice, "I don't like the city very much honestly. So hail yes."

Ivory

"Good." She laughed. "Yea, looks pretty thin to me. And probably. The time of the year doesn't depend I don't think? Unless you shed. But I don't." She said.
Ivory grinned. "Then off we go!!" She said happily. "Haha, I like both evenly. They're both my homes, ya know?" She said. As she started walking towards a wall that protected the city barriers. "Can ya jump over? I've done it before. There's a whole forest over this thing." She said.

Herne

"It is not," he remarked to her sarcasm, "that's issue on my part, I don't really either, and even if I do later in my life, it's still gonna be thick, then I'll be complained about shedding," he paused as he shook off two more times, to shake enough water so his fur didn't sag like a willow trees willows, "so it's a lose lose situation."
He looked over at the wall, as Ivory was already on top of it, and asked him if he was able to jump it.
The golden caracal took a few paces back, and made a fast run, and leaped right up the wall, and landed next to the cheetah.
"I was able to knock you from a tree," he boasted, "so yes. I can jump the wall."

Ivory

As he recalled back to when she was being locked off a tree by him she rolled her eyes. "At least I can jump it without running" she smirked. She jumped off the wall to the other side. "C'mon." She said walking into the forest and the leaves beneath her feet crunched. Though she tried keeping as quiet as possible just in case for any other cats nearby. She started to think of other ways they could go along without making much noise. Her face lightened up as she thought of something. "The trees. Wanna run through some trees, Herne?" She said smiling a wide smile.

Herne

"You're how many times bigger than me?" Herne protested as she hopped down from the wall and onto the forest floor.
He followed her down, but when he landed, he landed on his right leg first, rather his left, and a rather ungraceful landing happened.
"Ouch..." he said with his face in the dirt, and sat up, with a slightly muddy face, "that went well."
"You mean go up the trees and go from there?" he said with an interested tone, whipping a bit of the dirt off his face, "if so, why not, would be interesting, if not, why not."

Ivory

"Yup. Let's goo." She said as she hopped up a tree onto a branch. "Wow, it's so nice up here. It's like there are different tunnels but with leaves." She said smiling. She started walking along branches and jumping onto ones.

Herne

The golden, dirt covered, caracal followed her up the tree, and snickered a bit at her comment, then had to have one of his own.
"You are an irony, you know," he said to her, referring to her not being a fan of leaves, as he then grabbed some, and tossed them at her, before choosing to jump onto her back, and up to a branch slightly higher up than her.

Ivory

"Thanks" she said smiling. She takes insults as compliments. She never really cared if cats call her things or pick on her anymore. She just laughs it off. As he threw few leaves at her she growled lowly. Then almost falling as he jumped on her back unexpectedly, she watched as he landed in a branch slightly higher than her. She rolled her eyes, shook her head, and sighed. She leaped from branch to branch as she entered where there was a small creek bed. She loved creeks.

Herne

"My pleasure," he smiled at her as he followed her to the creek bed.
It was a good place for fishing, but he was full as it was, so he really didn't know what to do with himself about it. He could clean his face off properly, but he personally did care that much. The wind was starting to pick up a bit, and it was cold wind, even with his super thick fur, he felt it, likely because he was still rather wet.

Ivory

Ivory looked at Herne. He seemed a bit cold? "Cold bud? I can see why but are you?" She walked over to him and stood by his side. "I could help keep you warm if it's fine with you unless you don't want me too of course." She laughed. Ivory was usually motherly to younger cats she met. She never had her own children but hopes the right day will come.

Herne

Herne gave Ivory a rather bewildered look, as if she was nuts.
But traded the bewilderment with a remark, "Nothing I can't manage," he smirked at her, "plus I'm not a huge fan of touching," he said raising his paw up and wiggling his toes around, making fun the whole concept.
In reality, he was cold, but he had been through far tougher situations, so he chose to do his best to push through it, like everything else he has with his life.
"Shall we carry on?" he said to Ivory with a slightly shaky voice, "I'd like to keep moving."

Ivory

Ivory laughed. "Alright tough boy." She smirked then frowning slightly as she heard the shaking in his voice. "Alright." She said. She knew he was cold. It was obvious. But he was doing what he wanted, and so she should just let him. She started walking through the creek the water splashing at her paws as she walked. It was a bit cold but it was just at her paws anyway. She then decided to check up on Herne. "Hey buddy, you ok?" She said as she walked along.

Herne

The golden caracal was padding next to the stream, definitely at a faster pace than Ivory, to keep up with her, so him moving about was good to keep his body temperature up.
Ivory had looked back to Herne and asked if he was alright.
The caracal nodded at her as he hopped across the stream using the rocks that stuck up from the stream. They continued on the stream for a bit of time. And the temps were definitely dropping quickly.
Herne managed to keep up with her the whole time, but every now and then would stop for a moment to let out a hard shiver, to try and boost his own body heat, he was drying off, but even then, his undercoat was still very wet.

Ivory

Ivory looked at Herne. "I know you're cold. If you don't get warm you could get sick and the temperature drops going this way. And I REALLY wanna go this way." She said. "Might find this one fish I'm looking for." She explained. She looked around looking for a way to get him warm without her cuddling. "hrmm..." She noised lowly. She didn't think there was a way other than cuddling with him. So she just stayed worried and kept walking and would pause at times to check on Herne.

Herne

"Would it be salmon?" Herne asked her, ignoring her first statement, despite completely agreeing with her, he let another shiver, but hid it pretty well with a shake off.
Herne was still in no way a fan of cuddling with anyone, mainly due to it would bring back memories of his mom, his real reason for refusing. And her really wanted to go a day without crying over it. So hopefully Ivory found what she was looking for soon, and then they could get back to the city, where it had one good factor, a near sure wind-breaker. He persevered more, as they continued on further.

Ivory

Ivory nodded and smiled. "How'd ya know?" She looked at him. "Ok we stop here." She said looking at the water. She spotted one salmon a few steps away from her peacefully swimming. "Aha, I found youuuuu." She whispered as her hind quarters wriggled in excitement. She then pouched, stepping onto the fish with a paw and using her other to stick her claws in and kill it. "Caught one!" She smiled holding it up to show Herne. "Ya want some? We can split it?" She said.

Herne

"Salmon is the only thing better than cod," he testified, "I love fish, so I know my fish," he chimmed as they came to their stop.
Herne was fast to get behind a larger tree, to get out of the upping wind.
Not really paying attention to Ivory fishing, he sat and shivered some, off and on, and said aloud, "This is definitely the quickest I've ever seen the weather flip it's coin."
He looked back to Ivory, who suddenly had a fish aimed at him.
"Mmmmm... a bit," he said to her, a bit startled by the fish a few inches from his face, "this'll be the last we see them for a few months, you know," with a shorter shiver.

Ivory

Ivory nodded tearing half of the fish and giving it to Herne. "A bit? C'mon. Like you said, this'll be the last we see them for a few monthssss." She said as she ate her piece. "And there's more so Imma get as many as I can." She said smiling. "You can join me if you want. It only gets your paws went anyway unless you screw up." She laughed.

Herne

Herne nodded and scoffed his half down, since he took her statement about him messing up as a challenge in a way, anyway.
So he stepped into the cold wind, and joined Ivory with more fishing.
Didn't take him long to get himself wet though. He looked from a but above, as the salmon swam up the stream, which is never anything that made since they go out to sea, but whatever to that.
He jumped down, and pounced right onto a decent sized salmon, one salmon was enough to fill him, since they are typically half is current size or bigger. Rarely were they smaller. He gave it no chance as he grabbed it's back fin with his teeth, and whipped it up and over, smacking it into the rock the kinda protected them from the wind.

Ivory

Ivory smirked. Atta boy She thought. She went back to her own fishing as she pounced on a couple of salmon saving them up in small pile. She had about four or five and stopped fishing. She sat next to her small pile and started eating. She noticed Herne was already full. "How do you get full so fast?" She asked curiously. "I mean, I know it's like bigger maybe than you but, does that make a difference or is it just you can't fit that much into your stomach?" She said.

Herne

Herne after he ate the salmon he caught, which he had force last few down his gullet, since he was freezing cold, and eating would certainly help, but he slightly over ate, so he wasn't a fan of that.
He sat out of the water, and watched Ivory finish her fishing.
He replied to her comment, "It makes a big difference," he said to her, "and yeah, being smaller, means you eat less, but you also eat more often," he then shook off again, hiding some shivering he had built up.
Shaking off while letting out a shiver was a good way of hiding, plus it did more good than standing idle to shiver.
"The only plus to the city is many wind breaks," he admitted, with a slightly disgusted tone, "can we head back?"

Ivory

Ivory nodded in agreement then chuckling. "Alright, alright. Let's go." She said as she started walking back waiting for Herne. "I admit thought, it is pretty cold." She said. She was just a bit since her coat was dry and it was thick anyway. She gave a sarcastic shiver and continued to walk if off.

Herne

"Ha ha," Herne said to her sarcastic shiver as he followed her back to the city, likely how they exited, but hey, she could throw a curve ball, he thought, but I doubt it, he added to himself.
They walked back along the stream, retracing their steps essentially.

Ivory

Ivory laughed. As they got to the city wall she jumped onto the wall and down the other side. She looked up the wall waiting for Herne to appear on it then jump on down inside the city walls.

Herne

Herne meanwhile was still on the other side. He didn't bother trying to jump the wall, since he was way too cold to make that jump, but there was a tree near the wall, so he decided to jump up into it, with what energy he had left. He got up to a branch that was about the height up as the wall, which was higher on the outside.
He made his jump, and completely over shot the wall, and went plummeting into the lake on the other side.
The water, was definitely warmer in the lake than the creek.
He resurfaced to see Ivory.

Ivory

As Herne flew over Ivory and landed in the warm lake she chuckled. "At least it's warmer?" She said as she shrug. She smiled and walked along the lake. "Now, C'mon it's getting dark out and we need some rest for tomorrow." She said smiling.

Herne

"... yeah..." the caracal said, as he started to swim to shore, "almost ... don't want ... to get out honestly..." he uttered in broken sentence as they reached the shores.
He shook off again, just as icy wind blew their way.

Ivory

Ivory nodded in agreement. She layed down in a certain spot where the wind wouldn't blow towards her since a tree trunk was blocking it from hitting her. She then looked at Herne. "Ya want this spot? I don't mind sleeping in the cold. I'm actually used to it." She said getting up and walking near where she had left the laying down.

Herne

"You need to get out of the cold too," he said to her, "there ought to be something warmer a bit in the city," he ended, shivering hard.

Ivory

Ivory shrugged. "It's alright, kid. Now, lay down and get some rest. Every day there's a adventure waiting..." She yawned. "And you need... to have some energy... for those adventures..." She said as she dozed off to bed and the cold wind blew through her fur.

Herne

She had dozed off well before he ever had chance to try and urge her to venture further out of the weather.
Then he chose to something he's not done in a year or more.
He padded over to her, and layed right up against her, and very fell asleep himself.
He really enjoyed being around her. So the least he could was properly thank her for the day.

Ivory

As Ivory felt Herne brush up against her she smiled softly. Her tail quietly wrapped around him as he fell asleep. Herne felt like a son to her. She finally had the feeling she had someone to love as a child.
