Alright, been awhile I last posted something, so this is something. Not my favourite pic, I'll that much. But one I'll hold onto for a long time. In this pic, I tried to show how intense the afreet are in my story. They are creatures that are near impossible to defeat, and even the small ones are an armful of trouble and guff. I tried to show some of the struggle Rien would have to go through to defeat one. This kinda goes a little passed what I intended. I meant to some light scratch/scuff marks on him, but they turned more intense than I wanted, since this is my first attempt at this. So... whatever, do better next time I decide to draw a fight-scene image.
I will say that I spent three days on this, 4-6 at at time throughout each of the days. I had some freetime, and couldn't must myself to do art trade, got a couple line-arts done though. XD Though a couple trades I can't start until I get my stylus, which HAS YET TO SHOW IT'S FACE! Annoyed as heck! So sorry about that. And also with the image, I really tried putting what I know of foreshortening to the test! Love how that part came out! Thinking I am using an optical foreshortening technique in this pic.
Plus, in a sense of good luck, I ought to have some more freetime in the coming month or so, so hopefully I can get more pics up during that time. I hate the one pic every two weeks thing, life sucks at times, GIVE ME A BREAK!! Seriously! I just want to draw and write... and hack Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix! Would love to hear your guys's input on those hacks. I got a journal with a good chunck of what I got.
Anyway, I hope you guys like the pic! Really want some input on this! It is not my favourite piece, but something I put a lot of everything into, so critiquing would be appreciated! Rate, favourite, comment please!
This looks absolutely stunning, Times!! You did an amazing job. I'll admit its a tad bit bright, but it still looks great. A little arts tip, my art teacher told me not to use intense colors too often, even though i don't use them really. But she said intensity in a drawing should be focused around the main subject in the composition/artwork, and bright colors are very distracting to the eye and can have the viewer looking all over the place instead of the main focal point. I hope you find that tip useful, hun. And you haven't recieved your stylus yet???!!! if its being delivered by a particular delivery service like Fedex or Ups or any other you should track the package, see what its transit status is and delivery date. To make sure you didn't have your money given away for some anonymous reason.
The lighting is supposed to be extreme, what I going for with that. I like pics that have a lot going on it. To me it gives the image for life. Although I do see what you mean by that. And yea, parts came out too vivid, it was an experimental pic. So, yea, kinda expected it. And thanks for the tips, they'll be helpful!
I know! And no, it wasn't clear, I got a letter from them though saying it would take 21-35 business days. That's to a common person, 7 weeks, Blah, so they technically have a couple days left, they have till Wed.
I looks amazing. I do agree that the scuff marks on the afreet look too bright for the picture but in all it still looks amazing. Also I cant believe that your stylus hasnt shown up yet!!!! That is ridiculous!
