Character Description

Ahadi is Mufasa and Scar's father. He appears in an official source: The Lion King Six New Adventures Book 1: The Tale of Two Brothers. He becomes Uru's mate, who happens to be the daughter of King Mohatu. Thus he succeeds Mohatu and becomes the next Lion King. He is succeeded by his son, Mufasa.

Because of his limited role in The Lion King world, Ahadi is not well known, even among fans. Even the single book in which he appears in contradicts itself on his appearance. The book's artist portrays Ahadi's appearance somewhat similar to Mufasa's, but, the author explains his appearance differently, having a black mane and bright green eyes.

Most Lion King fans have accepted the black maned and yellowish furred Ahadi, but there are some that draw him as a Mufasa look-alike.

In A Tale of Two Brothers, Ahadi saves Rafiki (who had just arrived in the Pride Lands) from the hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. Ahadi had an agreement with the hyenas earlier that if they don't harm the other animals of the Pride Lands, he would spare their lives. Later on, Ahadi breaks his promise to Taka of going hunting with him, in order to solve the drought problems in the Pride Lands instead. Filled with fury, Taka, with the advice of Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, devises a plan to make Mufasa look bad by calling him to reason with the selfish Cape Buffalo, Boma. Boma is angered by this and attacks Mufasa. Mufasa is able to escape but Taka is surrounded by the raging buffaloes. Ahadi comes to the rescue and saves his son, but Taka gains a deep wound on his left eye that leaves a permanent scar. Taka then asked to be called Scar from then on, only as a reminder of his own foolishness.
