"Queen Kiara!" A voice calls from behind the golden lioness, and she quickly turns her attention to the new mother who lay proudly on her nest of sticks and dried clay. "Thank you for letting us Crocodiles stay here. My children have never been healthier," She beams, and Kiara gives her a small smile. The Crocodiles had been driven out of the Water Hole since she was a cub, and she knew she had to put a stop to their exile. It took many negotiations with the animals and her father to make the decision to make this Water Hole a nesting ground for Hippo and Crocodiles alike; but she now knew it was a proper one. "You're welcome," She says softly. -----------------------------------------
For the contest on TLKFAA, "Learning to love Kiara". Personally I already love Kiara and don't really see where people completely shrug her off as a bad character. She does a lot of the same things Simba does in her youth; disobeys her father, runs off to the Outlands (Elephant Graveyard), maybe she talks back like Simba does but I always found Simba to be a brat, while Kiara is sheltered and doubts herself way too much. Heck, she stomped a crocodile's face in while Kovu kind of just cried in the water. Even as an adult I don't dislike her at all, she's caring, and seems to want to find the peaceful solution to things and hear both sides of the story. As opposed to Simba letting his paranoia and temper influence his rash decisions. She managed to bring together two prides that have been at war for years, just by using her patience and better judgement, while Simba would rather fight to the death to settle the dispute. She also went back due to knowing her responsibility, and not running away from it like Kovu wanted them to.
I have a list as to why I think Kiara is a better character than most people write her off being. I know she has her faults, but I don't think they're really any worse than Simba's.
Oh, and before people ask, yes I gave her ear rims. uvu I always figured they would come in as an adult, much like how the males lose theirs as adults. I wanted to give her a little bit of Sarabi in her design.
