Timon is Pumbaa's best friend.

Physical Attributes

Timon is a pale brown meerkat, with dark brown stripes, a cream chest, and a red patch of hair on his head.

Information

Comical meerkat who is best friends with warthog Pumbaa. He grew up in a colony of meerkats, far from The Pridelands. Later he left home to go find his true home. Not soon after that he found Pumbaa and together they lived in a beautiful haven. After Simba ran away they adopted and raised him under the philosophy of "Hakuna Matata" (Swahili for "no worries"). In the end of Lion King 1 1/2, his Mom, Uncle Max and he lived together with the other meerkats in the place where they raised Simba. A real meerkat at the Fellow Earthlings Wildlife Center, Inc. near Palm Springs, California was the inspiration for the movie version of Timon, and was his namesake.

After the success of The Lion King, Timon and Pumbaa were given their own show, which ran for 86 episodes between September 1995 and November 1998, and occasionally had cameos of other Lion King characters.
