"Nice to meet you Xandra, my name is Kili"

Xandra smiled back at him and nodded her head. "Well met, Kili." Though the moment was short lived when Kili switched from a calm, gentle state to a more urgent and panicky one. She hesitated and looked around the room to see what they were hiding from.

"We must hide or make a run for it.. Sometimes humans come up here and not the usual humans. These ones come with their fire sticks"

Fire sticks? What was a fire stick? Whatever it was it didn't sound to promising as the foot steps of the humans got closer. Xandra flashed a toothy grin and looked at the door with a dark expression. No human was a match for her and with the burning hatred inside of her. It only added full to her burning fire. "Let's kill them."

"You can't kill them! They'll kill you before you can get near them. Sometimes they come in here and kill other humans in the blink of an eye. They shoot firey stones out of a metal tube. It makes such an awful sound and then they drag their bodies away. We must keep quiet or we'll die" Kili said, hoping that Xandra would understand what he meant and not leave the shadows.

Kili had often hidden for a time till the humans had gone. He feared the humans guns and had to suppress his whining. As the humans entered the room, there were four of them aswell as one other who looked beaten and bloody. Kili gave Xandra a pleading look to keep quiet but he wasn't sure she was going to.

Fire sticks? Fiery stones? Metal tubes? What kind of abomination was that? Xandra didn't want to find any time soon so she reluctantly hid away. Almost as flat as a pancake on the floor, her nape fur standing on end as it bristled. Both out of fear and anger at those humans. Whatever Kili saw in humans, she would never know. But that wasn't something to worry about now.

She gave Kili a terrified glance as she saw one of those fire sticks or what she assumed was one. There were four humans plus one more that was roughly throw on the floor. The were hard to make out in the darkness of the room but it was undeniable that they had those fire sticks. Unknowingly she was trembling with fear.

The four men began to swear and punch the one on the floor making Kili wince and fear for his own life. Soon they'll bring those fire sticks out He thought fearfully.

"Hold up.. What's that?" One of the men suddenly said.

There on the floor was the remains of Kili's chicken he had stolen earlier on that day. Kili let out a silent gasp as the man prodded it with his foot.

"Looks like someone or something has been here recently boys!" One of the others said.

Kili looked fearfully at Xandra. How could he have been so foolish. Were they going to die now? Kili didn't want to die especially after making a new friend and finally finding someone similar to himself. The young wold took a few steps back nervously and accidentally walked into a piece of broken mirror making him yelp.

"The hell was that?!" The leader of the gang said, hearing Kili's yelp.

Xandra pushed farther back into the corner until she was nearly smashed against Kili. The broken grunts and screams of mercy that escaped from the man upon the floor made her cringe. The humans surrounded him and kept beating and beating until there was barely an inch of his life left. Until all of the sudden it all stopped and went quiet. Then the leader of the men spoke in a deep voice.

"Looks like someone or something has been here recently boys!"

Kili looked at Xandra with fear in his eyes. He moved back into hiding but the broken glass upon the floor gave away there position as it cracked loudly. Her silver eyes widened and she knew they would be found after the loud yelp.

"The hell was that?!"

The boss and his men started scoping out the room. Glaring at the corner where the two were hiding, coming there way.

Kili licked his heavily bleeding paw. He gave Xandra a look as if to say he was sorry, but he could see it was pointless. They were going to be found and sure enough, the youngest of the group was the one who found them.

"Well, well, well... Look over here boys! We got a pair of wild dogs here" He called over to his gang members.

Kili wasn't sure how Xandra would take being called a dog, but his ears flattened down on his head.

"I've always wanted some rugs in here.. How about it boss?" The younger one said.

Kili growled without realizing it and limped infront of Xandra, as if protecting her. The gang member turned back to him and looked down at the young wolf growling at him.

"Hey you, shut up! I'll-" The man said, pulling the gun from his jacket.

Kili was already there though. He leapt up from the shadows and bit deep into the mans hand. The young gang member dropped the gun with a bang as Kili sunk his fangs into his flesh, breaking his wrist in the process as his grip was so firm. Once Kili was sure he was no longer going to try and shoot them, he looked over at Xandra.

"Run!" He called to her as the others began to reach for their guns.

The iron smell of blood filled Xandra's nostrils making her heart drop. She felt a dreadful feeling when she went to look at Kili, assuming that the wolf she just met would be nothing but a bloody stump. But she breathed in relief when she discovered it was only his paw. Though it was short lived when she saw the man looming over them with a fixed stare that read 'What are you doing here?'

"Well, well, well... Look over here boys! We got a pair of wild dogs here"

Xandra looked at the man through fear and just pure anger. Her lips curled up, revealing a sharp row of dangerous canines that threatened to snap. The nape along her back was bristling and her tail stood up.

"I've always wanted some rugs in here.. How about it boss?"

"You bastard!" Xandra felt the need, the want to run forward and just rip out his ignorant throat. But Kili had limped in front of her and looked rather defensive, as if defending her.

"Hey you, shut up! I'll-"

She still looked up at the man noticing as he reached into his jacket, pulling out what she thought was a fire stick. The ones that Kili had just finished talking about. He was the first to make a move, sinking his sharp teeth into the hand and wrist of the human. Blood splattered on the floor from the fresh wound. The human howled in pain as Kili let go, shouting "Run!". The human managed to stumble back on his butt and Xandra flash another wolfish smile. This time the human would pay for calling her a dog and threatening her newly found friends life. The black wolf was a shadow in the night, a silent specter as she leapt at the man in an instant. Her crushing weight on top of him should've broken a rib while her teeth went for his throat.

Once they sunk in, Xandra grasped hard and pulled. His throat was ripped open, his body twitched as he slowly died, choking on a mixture of his own blood and saliva. That's what that damneded human deserved for endangering her life.

"Shoot at it!" The men drew their guns up to her and opened fire. Yet she was out of their in the blink of an eye, the men chasing her down as she raced down the stairs, trying to find where ever Kili had ran off to.

Kili, seeing Xandra had leapt out of the shadows, assumed she would run but after a while of running he noticed that she as not behind him. He had leapt down three flights of stairs and was limping rather badly as the glass was still in his paw. He left a trail of blood droplets as he ran, but he was more concerned about Xandra's life now than the pain in his bloody paw. He then saw her running from the room and down the stairs, relieved he began to trot off out into the night air with Xandra behind him.

"Are you alright?" He asked the she-wolf, not exactly sure where they were heading.

Xandra raced down the stairs as if the devil himself was right at her heels. Her tongue lollied out of her mouth a she ran. It tasted the fresh blood along her muzzle, making her smile evilly. One human down, a billion more to go. She chuckled to herself as the sight of a familiar brown pelt caught itself in her gaze. Kili was okay but he'd left behind a rather noticeable trail of crimson droplets on the ground.

"Are you alright?"

She left out a few ample huffs of air, her heart racing and her chest heaving. The brief experience had both enthralled but shocked her. The wolf looked at Kili. "I'm doing fine, just kind of shaken. But atleast I'm doing better than that damned human. Killed that fool. Anyways, how's your paw? It doesn't look to good." She replied worriedly, noticing the amount of blood on the ground. But there wasn't enough time to pause. The remaining three humans were on them within seconds of their escape, guns draw.

Kili's ears flattened on his head as Xandra asked about his paw. For some reason, the news that she had killed a human had not shocked the young wolf in the slightest. He limped forward a few steps and looked at the glass still sticking out from the pad of of his paw. He felt rather faint, but as he was about to answer Xandra, he was interupted by the clicking of guns.

"Damn you dogs!" Called the man who had spotted them in the corner.

Kili yelped and began to limp away, hoping Xandra would do the same. As he ran, one of the humans let a shot out of the pistol narrowly missing Kili and it bounced off the concrete floor. Kili barked with alarm as the bullet collided with the floor and froze to the spot as more random bullets were let loose.
