"Friends for Life" and "Fight for the Throne"

Postby Akril » August 15th, 2011, 7:03 am

[I posted this as a bulletin on TLKFAA and figured I'd post it here too.]

"Friends for Life" and "Fight for the Throne" are two German TLK audio plays published by Karussell (Germany's largest producer of children's audio that is also an official partner of Disney) that take place after the events of the first movie. Like The Lion King: Six New Adventures, Simba has a son named Kopa in these stories. They're a fun read, and though there have been transcripts of the second story available for some time, they've been a little difficult to access, and I've only recently gotten a hold of a transcript of "Friends for Life" (with the help of a couple of very nice people on DeviantART). I've converted both of these stories to HTML and uploaded them to my site:

"Friends for Life"
"Fight for the Throne"

Happy reading!

(Special thanks to Tacimur for her great help in making this possible!)

In Friends for Life, it says the snake was a constrictor. Would a constrictor be found in Africa, and, if so, in that kind of barren area?

That's a good question. I was tempted to brush this off "South American animals in Africa" mistake (like the leafcutter ants and the anteaters in TLK), but I just had a look in a book of east African wildlife, and the largest snake in the region is the African Rock Python, which does kill its prey (which can be as large as a gazelle) by constriction, and spends a lot of its time in dens or burrows.
