Name: Malenga
Meaning: "She sings well" (Swahili, Kenya-Tanzania)
Age: 2 years old (cat years)/19 years old (human years)
Mother: Nthanda ("Star")
Father: Omari ("The highest")
Siblings: None
Mate: Cetshwayo ("Slandered one")
Pride: The Kioi Pride ("Bears heavy burdens")
Personality: Depending on her mood when you first meet Malenga, she can be either a very powerful welcoming party, or a distant someone who will only interact with others she knows well. Either or, she likes to make others believe she's not a very affectionate or nice lioness-- except if you're in her good books. She has gotten used to others calling her 'mean', 'easy to hate', and worse, but she has became pretty accustomed to letting the hate roll off her shoulders and move on with her life.
Malenga likes to be a care-free tomboy and follow the motto of 'Hakuna Matata!' as much as she can, but this lioness gets stressed out very easily. She likes to avoid confrontation as much as possible, but sometimes there is a need for her to stand her ground and show others that she won't be pushed around. She can be very paranoid. Prone to distracting herself from challenges and hardships, she likes to goof around, laugh, be loud, hang around with her pride, and enjoy herself. Watch out though, she has a wicked temper that can easily come out if you strike the wrong nerve. And she's not afraid to be aggressive if you really make her mad!
She has a dark, cynical sense of humor and also likes to poke fun at others. She plays rough and loves getting herself dirty. Malenga is a very loyal and dedicated girl when it comes to her family, friends, and loved ones, and tries to let them know she cares for them deeply whenever she can.
History: Malenga grew up with a very normal, loving childhood filled with parents who thought the world of her, and friends who cared dearly for her. As she grew up, she started to find herself and thus, lost some of the friends who didn't like who she was becoming. Along the way, her father revealed that he wasn't pleased how she was compared to other lioness (basically, he wanted her to be more of a girl instead of a tomboy). Through his 'advice', she resented him deep down and grew up even more dedicated to who she was as a lioness and individual.
Without many friends understanding her personality, she grew used to being alone and taking care of herself. Pretty soon though, she met a few new lions and lionesses-- including her first mate, Tabansi, and her second mate, Moswen. Though it ended badly for the two, she stayed with her lioness friends and met her new mate, Cetshwayo (who she affectionately refers to as 'Wayo'), and keeping with her new pride, the Kioi pride.
