The final scene.
I also kind of like think of Simba surfacing from the pool as symbolizing a kind of “rebirth” after all he went through. The scene in the rain before definitely has a sort of “cleansing” vibe to it.
Yeah, I agree with your analogy there. And it sparked a similar rebirth for the Pride Lands as well.
Having a glimpse of Simba returning to his youthful carefree endeavors with the two characters who helped raise him after he had already taken his rightful place as king was a nice way to end the film, since going by the original release, you'd expect him to be done with such activities once he finally embraced the role which he was destined to fulfill.
It’s funny that those “unhealthy” activities are usually the ones he ends up looking the most attractive during, imo. I title these Simba screenshots I upload “Simba’s hammock time”, “Simba’s hot tub time”, and so on I guess to show that while I really like seeing him do it and the screencaps are favorites of mine, it’s definitely not stuff he should be doing all the time. Plus, then it wouldn’t be special. 8-)

I wonder if that's because those are human associated activities, and they get Simba acting in ways which closely resemble human like mannerisms, making him more relatable and interesting at the same time because naturally, lions aren't supposed to engage in such behaviors. He certainly looks more "anthropomorphized" during these scenes.

I know, and I really love seeing him like that. And that’s mainly why I also really like the idea of Mufasa occasionally doing these activities, both cause I think he would look great doing them and to show they’re not “bad” if done in moderation. And it wouldn’t really be completely unbelievable, since similar to Timon with Simba, Mufasa has a two-legged friend with Rafiki. Heck, two, since he also has Zazu.

I particularly enjoyed the scene where Simba and Timon held the snail eating contest. They made him far more "humanized" in it than how he's usually portrayed like throughout the franchise, unlike Scar or Zira, who were regularly depicted showing a significant degree of anthropomorphism when on screen.

Not quite sure what you mean by that, or how it’s a direct response to my post you quoted :?

Well, we were talking about Simba engaging in unusual activities for a lion and acting in a human like manner. In the scene I've mentioned, he did just that.

Look, I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but I’m really not following you here. You haven’t explained how he acted in a human like matter for one (I looked at that scene and am not quite sure why you think that), your comparison to Scar and Zira didn’t make sense (I hadn’t mentioned them), and again, you haven’t really acknowledged much of what I’d said specifically in my initial post you responded to (the one yesterday at 1:13), despite quoting it, which makes me feel like you didn’t even read it.

I’m sorry if this is coming across as rude, though. I’m just kind of sensitive, so when I don’t understand what someone’s saying or when I feel people aren’t really listening to me, I get kind of frustrated.

Never mind then. Just forget you've read any of that and don't let it bother you. No point in getting worked out over something so trivial. I'm not trying to be rude either but I think that once a conversation hits a wall, the best thing one can do is to backtrack away from it and move on to something else.

I agree, it’s probably for the best if I just forget about your last two posts. But (and please don’t take this the wrong way) I would still really like to hear your thoughts on what I initially said, it would mean a lot to me, especially since that way I’ll know you were definitely listening. Here, I’ll reiterate it. (Including what you said that preceded it.)
