It's a direct to video that exists first and foremost to milk the cashcow. Pleasing the real fans was the distant second priority.
"Simba's Pride" (and other DTV Disney sequels) was animated in different countries, by completly different television crews, so they could complete the movie faster, of course it has a lot of animation mistakes.
Disney is like any other movie company: they care about positive reviews, profit and awards.
A DTV sequel is just an easy, fast way of making some money and to promote the original movie even more.

wereberess said " 1. Kovu. I think instead of making Kovu a color clone of Scar and then have him act nothing like Scar they could've mixed it up a bit. Give Kovu that twisted smile, blood red eyes, and lanky frame, as well as those extended claws and make him more outlander because if you think about it the rest of his siblings including his mother are all lanky and thin while he's thick. Guess what im trying to say is that Kovu doesn't look too much like Zira..."

you never see his father, so he might have took after him. also, zira might have adopted him for all we know, since he doesn't look like her, or nuka and vitani. further more, the artists were making him look different on purpose.

wereberess said "2. Kiara. Her NAME means dark but her PELT is of light coloration."

first of all, her name also means light, luminosity, and shine in Italian, second, she gets her colors from simba and nala. just sayin'. :cheese:

First and foremost, The Lion King II is not perfect, but then again, no movie is perfect, but that doesn't mean they can't be super duper good. Overall, it was a satisfastifying sequel with a decent storyline, decent music, and has likeable new characters along with the original characters we know and love.

However, I'm not going to argue with Wereberess's statements because I feel there's nothing left to add to this argument. You see, every statement directed to Wereberess's criticisms have already been made by several other users before me, ranging from the reason for Simba's overprotection to Kovu's outward resemblance to Scar. So, it's rather pointless to repeat them.

But, I do want to this thing off my chest: WHO ON EARTH cares about the inner leg coloring? That would be one the last things I would notice while watching the movie.

I personally think it's fun to find little things in movies, like errors, or similar props or filming locations as another movie or episode has. It doesn't ruin it for me at all.

When I'm watching the movie, I don't normally notice little things like fur being a certain color, but there are a few things that could have been clearer, like:

Timing: Like the relationship of ages between different characters, or when was a character born in relation to a certain event in the movie.

Relationships: The biggest thing that bugs me. Like, who is ____'s father.

I feel like those things could have been made clearer by the movie makers of SP. Even though they were different people, they could have easily looked at the first movie and made character designs more consistent and made the plots fit together better.

I mean, they wouldn't have had to answer all of those questions directly, but just make them clearer in general.
