- Scar is a rogue in league with the hyenas, and is not a member of the pride. (I'm happy he's from the family, it's far more interesting)
- King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi have a son, Simba.
- Simba grows up with a menagerie of playmates. His best friend, Nala (or Nadra), has as her constant companions her little brother, Mheetu and Bhati, a bat-eared fox. Simba's own sidekicks are Timon and Pumbaa (or Harold). (Why do Simba and Nala need their own sidekicks? If Nala is Simba's best friend then she could be his own sidekick, right? Also, too many characters: Simba + 5 friends!)
- The youngsters play games like "king of the hill" as they learn about their environment and the hierarchy of the animal kingdom. (This sounds kinda funny...)
- Simba grows into adolescence too preoccupied with thoughts of love for Nala to heed his father's training on how to be a good king. (Awww! <3)
- Simba risks his life in an attempt to save the cub Mheetu, who is lured by Scar into the midst of a wildebeest stampede. Mufasa ultimatly rescues both young lions. (Simba saves Mheetu, Mufasa saves Simba... Who'll save Mufasa? lol)
- Mufasa saves Simba from a flood, instead of a wildebeest stampede.
- On a day when Simba refuses to go on patrol with him, Mufasa is killed in a direct attack by Scar and the hyenas. After Mufasa's death, Scar rules the pride until Simba is old enough to be king. The day arrives for Simba to assume the throne, but Scar denounces him as irresponsible and unfit to rule.
- Rafiki arrives and and accuses Scar of murder. Scar calls on the hyenas to chase Simba and Rafiki into exile. They go to live with Timon's family of meerkats and Rafiki trains Simba for his climatic battle with Scar. (Karate Lion, I mean... Kid)
- Simba wins, gets together with Nala and happy ending.
- They tried to paraphrase lines from Hamlet in the script such as "Alas poor wildebeest, I chewed you well". (0___0)
