Any truth to TLK4 rumors??

Hey, guys, it's SK. I've been doing a little bit of web surfing, and I'm noticing that there's been an ever-increasing amount of chatter around the rumors mills deep within the bowels of the Internet that Disney is planning to release a fourth installment in the TLK franchise, some time after they release TLK on Blu-Ray in October 2011. People keep consistently saying that it will be a prequel film about Scar and Mufasa's childhood, that's always the general answer. I've even come across a person who said in late 2008 that one of their acquaintances who works in the animation department at Disney told her this was the case and that they were aiming for a Spring 2012 release.

Does anybody know if there is any truth to this persistent rumor?

i dont think they are making a 4th movie. The animation on the timon and pumbaa episodes is soo not good so i dont think they'll make a 4th, sorry

No, there's no turth to the rumours. Some fans just don't know where to draw the line between their daydreams and reality. Apparently some go even so far as to claim they know someone official and heard it from them. The problem is, they can't prove it any more than anyone else. And then too many people blindly trust anything they read on the internet no matter where it reads and by who it is posted, without any desire to have an official source references and checking them out. That's a very unwise attitude though relatively harmless in a fandom matter.

So: I wouldn't trust any source that isn't official. Meaning, as long as there is nothing about a new TLK movie on Disney's official web site, it's not really coming up. And a movie has to be listed at least in IMDB.com and to be found by the seacrh tool there, before I trust it's at least in official plans/production and possibly coming up. But even so, it'd best be also on the movie company's own official web site for an actual confirmation.

PS. Exception is that I believe there is coming up at some point, another movie based on Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles because I heard it from Anne Rice herself and she has by now for long talked about it also on her official Facebook page and she says she will announce on her official web site when she has more news on it. Hence, OFFICIAL sources that can be checked out for confirmation, are the only sources that should be trusted in this kind of matters.

Did you hear about those rumors for YouTube? If so, they're fake. YouTubers can't tell between fanon and canon.. One of them kept claiming that Kopa is Nala's and Scar's child, despite asking them over nine thousand times where's the proof.. Kopa isn't even an official character..

Amen to that. But it's not even just YouTube, it's all over the web because the same people hang around other sites too. As saud, one should never trust an unofficial site that doesn't refer to an official source that anyone can check out for confirmation. In the Kopa case the books aren't enough for an official source because people talk about the movies.

Also people claim the SP film's makers planned there to be a boy cub named Chaka next to the girl Kiara but later changed it only to Kiara, but no one EVER refers to a confirmable official source. People talk about the original script of SP but no one ever tells where that would be found or where had anyone official talked about it, so that people could check it out. Thus it remains a rumour with no evident truth to it and is likely just a fan's desperate and sadly succesful effort to force the cub in the end of the first movie to having at some point been a boy when in fact it never was.

I think most people are just going too far with wishful thinking is all though I hope it is true
