suggestion about special art contests

I don't understand the problem with this. What's wrong with submitting the same picture for both contests? I don't think Mike's contest should be themed because 1 week is simply not enough time to come up with a good enough picture for something like that... I think there should be two contests, a monthly one with a theme, and a weekly one without a theme.

I wouldn't change the entire contest to be themed, what I'm thinking of is just adding a theme in addition to what's already there. That way artists can be inspired by the theme like Thani suggested, or they can come up with their own ideas. That allows for a lot of freedom, and hopefully more activity and participation in the contest.

I'm not sure why making a themed pic would be hugely harder than a non-themed pic though, It's just a different subject for the drawing really.

Okay hold on. This isn't too hard to find a solution. Mike can continue the Fan Art contest without a theme and thani can host a new contest with a theme be it monthly or weekly or just for this month. :]

that's why I didn't get the point of putting this in the suggestions when you could just start a thread for it and have the contest. it's not like we're only allowed one contest guys. we can hold as many different contests as we create

It's not stealing if I have the other person's permission, and that was the whole point of my last post, seeing if Thani was okay with it so that I could add her idea to the contest. If Thani wanted to just start the contest, she could have, but instead she posted in suggestions so that we could figure something out.

Of course! Members are allowed and encouraged to start their own art contests. Some already have such as Annie's Cub Collab. It's not really a contest, but it's a get-together relating to drawing TLK art.
