You all have valid points to be honest. But, as a new member myself I think that if I were to go back to my introduction post, I wouldn't of minded the Greeting Team. Liked it even.

I would love to be on The Greeting Team. I like the idea, and how it could remind people to go over to the Introductions and say Hello to new members. It's a good idea.

I see no reason why people can't just start doing this. I don't see how it'd be any different than having a "Proud Member of MLK" icon in their signature. I like the idea. :3 While I think that particular introduction topic was a bit of a fluke and we're usually a quite welcoming community, I think it puts more importance on welcoming new members.

I initially misunderstood this and I think a lot of people are. It's not organized. It's just a group of people who like welcoming new members and want to dedicate themselves to welcoming people. Not because they're part of a 'team', but because they want to. Like Moka said, it's just an informal group and an icon in your signature showing you like welcoming people. I think it's a fine idea. ^^

Oh, well if they're talking about just a icon in their signature then I see no problem with it. I thought moreso that it was going to be like a new group for people to introduce people to the forum... which would seem like the staff are picking favorites, but it'd be fine if it were an open group.
