Baruti's father is a very cruel lion, instead of letting the previous leader go he killed him with his back turned. The other lions in the pride didn't like the leader or his son, despite the leader treating his son like trash, they still thought that Baruti would be just like his father. It wasn't until his father suddenly went mad and attacked one of the lionesses. Baruti had had enough with the killing and with the help of the lioness, chased off his father.
