Character Description
Name Meaning: "apple" in Swahili.

Description: Tufaha's a rather skinny, small lioness. She's not overly petite, but is under average. She is lean and has short smooth fur. Her exotic, almond-shaped eyes and ears are both large, giving her excellent vision and hearing. Her fur is a pale cream-brown, and her underside, muzzle, and paw toes are all an off-white. Her inner ears are a darker tan, as is her upper eye shade and the stripe above her nose. Her lower eye shade is the off-white color. Tufaha's tail tuft is a bright orange cream. She has a black spot on the top of each ear near the head. She has five black spots on the left of her left eye. And her eyes are a very bright orange.
Personality: At first glance she seems a bit quiet, but she quickly warms up to those she doesn't know. She's pretty friendly, and will readily form bonds. Tufaha isn't the chattiest of lionesses but will certainly talk when she's around others. She's very selfless and will do anything to help others, whatever they may need, and even if she ends up doing more harm than help. She's rather awkward too, and tends to stumble over herself.
She's very shy around males, and is somewhat of a hopeless romantic. She stammers and stares when spoken to. However, she usually tries to laugh it off. Sometimes unsuccessfully. She kind of wishes to have a mate, and maybe cubs, but doesn't dream on it too much. She is kind and comforting, and likes cubs, so she thinks she would be a good mother.
Tufaha is very imaginative and likes to create things with her mind. She is bubbly when in a good mood and with friends. She enjoys being around others, and is reasonably social, even if she has a bit of trouble starting off. However, she does have a bit of a temper. She usually holds herself together, but if something sets her off she's slow to cool.
History: Born in a pride called the Greenlanders (due to the tall, lush grass present over the territory--which stayed pretty green even during the dry season), and lived there her whole life. Tufaha had no siblings, but there were plenty of other cubs for her to gambol about with. She had a bright, easy childhood for the most part. Her best friend was named Neema, and the pair were as thick as thieves. Tufaha's mother was an excellent huntress and an important member of the pride, and her father was a resident male, one of three including the king.
At the age of three months a flood swept through, killing a few lions, particularly the young princess as well as Neema's mother. The blows were severe for Tufaha, for she knew both the princess and Neema's mother very well. Though she pulled through, her friend Neema was depressed for a good while after. The pride was in a state of grieving for the princess as well. The prince of the pride, a few months older than Tufaha and Neema, was a good friend, so they spent much time together during the recovery. After a while it was obvious he had a crush on Tufaha.
The young lioness grew up pretty well after that, despite other minor events. The prince, Mbweha, continued to pad after her. She was more or less oblivious at first, but when Neema took pity and told her, she was an absolute mess after that when around him. She wasn't sure of her opinion, but was quite pleased anyhow. However, it came as a blow when Mbweha turned his attentions to a new lioness, a recent stranger to the pride.
Tufaha brushed it off and turned to focus on her new important task: hunting. She and Neema and the rest of her peers were able to start, so it was a distraction from the playings of romance. She excelled, just like her mother, and soon became initiated into the pride as a full huntress earlier than usual, before she'd reached two years of age.
For a while it was peaceful, until a rogue group started pestering the Greenlanders. Permissions: Private (Only the artist can use this character. Artist is accepting gifts with this character in them.) |
