Description:
Silika is a compact, yet lean lion. He is rather small for his age and short height-wise, but with a large, full mane and tail tuft as an adult. His nose is similar to a Pridelander's and he has angled but round eyes. His fur is a deep, inky mix of black and gray. It is quite contrasting with the jungle he lives in, making him stand out well. His fur is short and rather soft to the touch. Silika's sub-pelt is a few shades of gray lighter. His muzzle is this color, as well as his front two paws. The hind paws are a striking white-gray. It contrasts greatly against his dark coat.
This white-gray also tips his tail and the tuft of mane on his head, a rather unusual quality. Silika has a thin, white-gray stripe around the ankle area of each leg. He also has two white stripes on each cheek--horizontally. He has the white-gray color on the upperside and underside of his eye shading, making his eyes stand out even more. Speaking of which, his eyes are a brilliant red-orange, almost dancing with inner fire. His nose and inner ears are the same, both a dark pink-gray.
Personality:
Silika is a queer lion, certainly. He is mildly antisocial, though of course living alone does those things to you. He often will conceal emotions and is very "hard to read". To some, he appears fleeting and mysterious. At a distance, this is an appropriate assumption. Silika is much different once you are acquainted with him. He opens up a bit more, and expresses himself more. He seems to become almost awkward and clumsy, and will wind up stammering and stuttering in speech. Most strange, others think. He does this more often around females.
Silika is kind and polite, he won't be aggressive unless completely necessary. He is somewhat a poor fighter too, and wishes not to demonstrate if possible. He has low self-esteem and gets overly upset when embarrassed. He realizes this, and hates himself much for it. He was used to bullying and teasing when he lived with his pride as a youngster, and recalls those times with much emotional pain. He is sensitive and always prepared to do what is right. Silika can reach out to help those in need, and would never, ever give up on a friend. He is loyal to the end, and therefore betrayal wounds him to the core. He has little confidence, but when defending a valued companion, he stands up the largest threats.
