Kema is an African Wild Dog raised by the queen of the Noblelands, who was dethroned and later exiled from her pride for being unable to have cubs. The queen joins Mufasa's pride as a huntress and passes away from a disease during Scar's reign. Kema then runs away and lives on her own, but returns around the time Simba and Nala do.

Kema is extremely strong, and a very good fighter. She is the size of a male wild dog, and while she behaves naturally like one, she has lion-like quirks as well, like fighting with her claws, climbing trees, or even attempting to roar.

She's a gentle character, and very protective of those she cares about.
