Character Description

Mstari is a striped hyena who can sometimes be irritable and seemingly apathetic but ultimately does her best to do good in the world. Like most striped hyenas she is more introverted. She is used to being misunderstood by others and has a cynical opinion about it and my even have a slight superiority complex.

Her parents were killed by humans when she was a cub and she was taken captive to be in a circus. The only friends she had were the rats that came to nibble at her food dish and they were also killed by the humans, one by one. Then in the dark of night she figured out how to open the doors and escaped into the wilderness and managed to evade being eaten by a gang of chimpanzees.

After a long journey she found herself near Pride Rock at the time of Scar's rule. While Mstari did not desire to kill any creatures herself she got used to the idea of eating raw meat of dead animals. The spotted hyenas of Scar's legion mocked her stripes but allowed her to dine on their left overs. The lionesses sneered at Mstari with prejudice and mostly ignored her friendly advances. Scar himself only gave her the occasional odd glance as if he was curious but didn't care enough to ask anything. Soon the dry season came and the grass began to die and the herds began to move on. Because Mstari was at a loss of what to do she stayed around long enough to witness Scar's death. When Simba banished all of Scars followers Mstari felt as if she had been neutral in the conflict and so she merely wandered to a cave on the outskirts of the pride lands unsure of what her fate would be.
