Character Description
Ghedi is a liger and was born to a tiger mother, Lesley(who in turn was the product of a blue tiger and a regular tiger, though not apparant) and a lion father, Andromeda. When Ghedi was born his stripes, muzzle and belly were blue, showing the inheritance of his mother.
The zoo where he was born had intended to introduce the newborn ligers, including Ghedi, to the wild savannahs of Africa. After the cubs were wheened they were taken to an inclosure far from human villages.
At first they seemed to be doing all right, but their tiger inheritance took over and the ligers became more aggressive towards eachother, especially Ghedi, for he longed for the companionship of others.
One day two of the biggest and strongest ligers engaged in a huge fight and in their anger, they were immune for the shocks of the electric fence. Then one fell over and the entire fence came down.
Ghedi had watched from afar and saw his kind take to the savannah. To afraid to walk the open plains of Africa he stayed near the broken down inclosure. His hunger became more and the humans had given up on the project after the aggressive escape. After weeks, Ghedi was more dead than alive. Hyena's were closing in on him, their laughter filling the sky. Ghedi knew he had to eat something and so he dragged himself away from what had been his home. The hyena's went with him, waiting for him to fall down the last time.
A few days later he came upon a small impala. It clearly had been seperated from it's mother. With his last strength, Ghedi jumped on the animal and his paws broke the back, killing the impala instantly. Finally he could eat. The Hyena's watched him eat and after the liger let out a big snarl, they slunk off.
His belly a little more full, Ghedi got the hang of hunting, although he more often broke the back of the animal instead of choking them to death.
