<b>NOTE: before ANYONE tries to give me the "incest" lecture, LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF FIRST.</b>
That said, meet Chesi, Kichaa and Pasi: the three cubs of Nuka and Vitani. I do NOT support siblingxsibling love by any means, which is why these cubs would only exist where Vitani was NOT Zira's daughter, but the cub of Simba and Nala. Since I half-believe that theory already, and seeing as to how close Vitani and Nuka are in Simba's Pride, I decided to go ahead and design three cubs for them.
Actually, I was inspired by my friend , for though I already sort of considered the idea of NukaxVitani, I never did anything with it until I started toying with the idea of Vitani not being related to Nuka. Granted, they would still be cousins (considering most fans believe Nuka to be Scar's son, even though the directors of SP say otherwise) but in the animal world, cousins mating with cousins is acceptable.
I've sort of started toying around with an idea for a backstory for Nuka, Vitani and their cubs, seeing as to how Nuka "supposedly" died.... (this would also take place in my "Tale of Two Sisters" universe)
Shortly after Simba's Pride ends, Nala confronts Vitani, because she recognizes her, and realizes she is her long-lost daughter. Nala thought Vitani had died as a cub, and seeing her again, alive, both delights and confuses her. Naturally, they both go to Simba, as he is mysteriously distancing himself from her. Though he's unwilling at first, eventually Simba confesses to both his mate and daughter what actually happened when Vitani was an infant: how he traded her in for another, more pridelander-looking cub....Kiara. Simba originally told Nala that Kiara was Tama's cub, from an affair he'd had shortly after becoming king. Tama had vowed to keep it a secret, and had gone to live with Malka (whom she loved) and his pride. However, according to Simba, Tama had died, and had left behind her (and his) young daughter, whom she wanted to grow up in her father's kingdom. According to Simba, Kiara was delivered to him by a member of Malka's pride, which is why he was "absent" the night Vitani was "abducted/killed." In reality, Kiara was the child of Simba and ZIRA, whom he'd had the affair with, and upon learning this, all three lionesses (Nala, Vitani and Kiara) are horrified. Nala because Simba was the one who exchanged her real daughter for another, Vitani because Simba abandoned her because she looked like Scar, and Kiara because her mother was Zira and Simba never told her.
Now don't worry about KiaraxKovu: shortly after this happens, another young male lion (Babu) returns to the Pridelands. He is Kovu's half-brother, and he tells Kovu that Zira murdered his real mother: Kula.
However, this probably takes place while Vitani, overcome by emotion, leaves the Pridelands for a time to clear her head, and decide what she should do. Cooincidentally, she ends up in the gorge where Simba was attacked, and Nuka died. Hit with more emotion, she goes over to examine the fallen logs, wanting yet fearing to see her brother's dead form, still crushed....but he isn't there. Confused, Vitani starts digging through the logs, desparetly trying to find him....and then a voice calls out to her.
"Vitani....is that you?"
She turns around, and sees a beaten-up, but very much alive Nuka, staring at her with disbelief. At first, she's afraid--after all, he's supposed to be dead--but after some convincing on Nuka's part, tears form in her eyes and she rushes over to him, overjoyed to see him alive. He'd always understood her better than anyone, and paid more attention to her than Kovu or Zira ever did. And her real parents.... Eventually, the two sit down and talk a bit, where Vitani tells him that she is not Zira's cub, and in turn, not his real sister. She is surprised, however, when Nuka says he knew this all along. Since he was older than her, he remembered when Zira first brought her to the outlands, instructing him to keep her true parentage a secret.
"It got harder as you got older" he says, "especially because you were clearly the most beautiful lioness of mother's pride....but you thought you were my sister, so I could never make a move."
Vitani is taken aback, but for some reason, blushes. "You....thought I was beautiful?" She asks.
Nuka nods, and smiles sheepishly. "I still do."
Vitani smiles back, then asks the inevitable "What now?"
Nuka shrugs, but it's clear he has no intention of returning to Pride Rock. He still hates Simba and Kovu, but at this rate, revenge is futile. Vitani, also, is in no hurry to go back: she still feels betrayed by her father. The two eventually decide to take off on their own and live their lives as rogues. Eventually, Vitani's sisterly feelings towards Nuka develop into love. The two decide to "Start a Pride, all their own" And THIS is where Chesi, Kichaa and Pasi come in.
So yeah. THAT'S the backstory....which would be very fun to write.........we'll see.
Chesi is the dark-furred female. Her name means "Witty." Kichaa is the tannish-furred female. Her name means "Crazy." Pasi is the golden-orange male. His name means "Ambitious."
