Character Description
Name: The name Raven is meant to be ironic towards her albinism. It was a name cruely given to her at birth to be symbolic to a bad omen; as Raven's are the messengers of death.
Age: A season younger than Zira.
Family: She is Zira's younger sister.
Personality: Raven is a very bitter sarcastic being. She can care and can be gentle, but rarely to adults, or strangers. She is very cautious of strangers, and returns kindness with sarcasm.
Story: Born as Zira's sister, and into a pride where rank and strength dominate, she was instantly shunned. She never had any friends growing up, and she had to teach herself how hunt for the other pride members would not let her hunt because her fur color gave her away and often ruined hunts. It wasn't long until her looks caught up to her reputation as a bad omen. Hunters were attracted to her white fur and followed her back to the pride. The land was burnt down as the hunters tried to smoke out the pride. Half of the pride was abolished leaving Zira, Raven, Dotty, Spotty, Half Eye and Digger... Everyone blamed her, and treated her worse than before; though they kept her around because they needed all the muscle they could get. During their wanderings they stumbled across the Pride Lands where King Scar was in charge. Scar reluctantly accepted the lionesses into the Pride. Now Zira, attracted to power, instantly put herself in Scar's presence constantly. But Oddly enough Scar preferred to be near Raven. The two had a very love hate relationship. She never put up with him, and yet for some reason she was the only pride member that Scar tolerated back-talk from. Her bitter personality was a game to him. He stayed with Zira to keep up appearances, but secretly longed for the bitter, sarcastic, white lioness. One night, when Raven was feeling particularly vulnerable after an encounter with hyenas; Raven spent a night of passion with Scar. Horrified at what she had done with the king, she avoided him after; and he avoided her too. Neither of them wanted anyone to fall out. Unfortunately, Zawadi was conceived from this incident and it became harder to hide these things from the power crazed Zira. Though the prospect of having an heir excited Scar, when he finally saw the new born it looked too much like his father, Ahadi, and that meant it looked too much like Mufasa. Once again, a lion was discriminated against for the way it looked, and Scar refused to recognize the cub as his son. The Pride Lander Lionesses helped Raven raise Zawadi and Zawadi would quickly grow close to Mheetu. Unfortunately, Scar made the tyranical decision to kill all the young males of the pride to prevent competition until he could produce an heir and Mheetu was killed. Raven never took her eyes off of Zawadi after that. Raven had never loved someone as much as she loved her son. But one day Zawadi managed to run off to play away from his mother.... He was never seen again after that. It crushed Raven and she became more closed off than ever. It wasn't long before she left the pride lands, and has been a lone wanderer since.
