Physical Attributes
Shenzi's appearance is very square and ragged, her forehead has bangs protruding from her and a black and gray coat. As with the custom of hyenas, she has a curved back that slants upwards with a tuft of fur at the tip. Her eyelids and lips are lined with black; and her ears are straight and flexible.
Information
Shenzi has a sassy personality and tends to take control over the three other hyenas, Banzai and Ed. She can be very vicious if tempted, though also distracted by other happenings.
The Lion King
Shenzi is one of the many hyenas that are ruled by the malicious Scar, self-appointed king of the Pride Lands. Before Mufasa's death, the hyenas had been treated with hatred and often hunted in the Pride Lands for food, ending with dreadful injuries. When Scar told the hyenas his plan to conquer Pride Rock, they readily agreed, for food was scarce and Scar had promised all the food their stomachs could handle. The time Simba and Nala had strayed into the Outlands, the hyenas (Shenzi being one of them) began chasing them until the poor cubs were trapped, when suddenly Mufasa leaped into the air and fought with the hyenas until they finally gave up and didn't bother them anymore.
When Simba was still a cub, they were ordered to chase after the herd of wildebeests, part of Scar's plan for domination, unfortunately leading to Mufasa's death. After Mufasa was killed, Scar wanted them to chase Simba down and kill him; the hyenas only go so far when Simba stumbled into a patch of thorns and managed to get out unharmed while Banzai accidentally fell into them. Shenzi was the one responsible for not killing Simba, the whole plot may have changed if this had not happened.
Scar finally assumes the throne and the hyenas are treated with loads of food, as promised, until the bountiful meat had run scarce and water low. Shenzi tried to convince Scar to help them, but he sent them out when Banzai foolishly said 'Mufasa'.
In the end scene where Simba is fighting Scar,Shenzi and the hyenas are fighting with Scar, but hearing him say it was the hyenas fault, the hyenas finally cornered Scar and (supposedly)ate him alive. What happens after this to Shenzi, no one knows.
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
Shenzi has no appearance in the sequel.
