Yeah but Kimba was meant to be called Simba but it was too common so they changed it.

Actually the word "kimba" has a couple of meanings in Swahili. It means "dung" and "corpse"...:huh8: I'm pretty sure that Kimba's name doesn't come from Swahili.

I don't know what to think about this really...because the similarities are so many there is really no way they could all be coincidental. But I don't necessarily see why it had to become such a big deal. Filmmakers steal each other's ideas pretty much all the time. It seems to me like people just search for excuses to bash Disney in every way possible.

Maybe Kimba is taken from Zulu? A lot of names in TLK are taken from Zulu so maybe Kimba too?

Very true right now. It seems there's a "Pixar makes movies, Disney makes cartoons" attitude lately...

Exactly. And back in the day it was usually about Disney films dealing with topics that were considered inappropriate by some people. More of a "Disney did this, Disney did that, now let's boycott Disney!" -attitude. It's all completely insane.

I think it was, but that dosen't make me like TLK any less. I personaly find Kimba to be very boring. Disney has also "borrowed" other movies and claimed them to be their own. It's a very well known fact in various Titan A.E. fan circles that what Disney calls "Treasure Planet" is just a copy of Titan A.E..
