How would a younger Mufasa or scar be voiced?

By younger, I mean in their cub stage. Who do you think could fit their roles best? How do you imagine them sounding? We are so used to hearing their adult voices, so I thought it would be interesting to think about as if these two had their own movie. I personally think scar would be voiced by some British child actor.

I have to agree with you. Johnathan Taylor Tomas was 12 when he voiced Simba, so I think actors in that age range would be could candidates to voice Mufasa and Scar as cubs. As for who to cast, well to paraphrase Scar, I have no Idea.

Scar would most definitely be voiced by a British child actor. Mufasa, on the other hand, could be voiced by a white or black American child actor since the casting for the first film was color-blind. On the audio commentary, co-director Rob Minkoff mentioned that Niketa Calame, who is black, voiced young Nala while adult Nala was voiced by Moira Kelly who is white.

I would leave it to the casting director to determine who is the best for the roles should Disney ever pursue a project about young Mufasa and Scar.

That would be an awesome project. I'd love to see young Mufasa/Taka and see the saga of Taka getting disillusioned and becoming Scar. Maybe introduce a little bit darker areas to Mufasa's saintlike character.

Not sure if I want to see a movie based on this.

Though, I wouldn’t mind a flashback episode of the lion guard that explores Mufasa and Scar as cubs. It could even tie into how Kion defeats Scar, seeing as how his roar won’t be able to.

if they were to do another animated tlk movie. like, an actual movie, not a glorified tv pilot i’d rather they do something post tlk2.

I absolutely agree with you on this. Prequels often raise more questions than they answer.

Also this story would now have to involve story elements from The Lion Guard. Thus making The Lion Guard required viewing to fully comprehend The Movie's plot.

Whereas a Post Lion King 2 movie could include The Lion Guard characters with only the mild shock of:

Kiara has a younger brother?! I didn't know that.

It would not be necessary to devote even a 4th of the film to explaining who Kion and The Lion Guard are.
