Counting down the days

I went to the vet to get my puppy a check up today and yesterday, and he has more than just lung cancer. He also has something wrong with his blood, which prevents the doctors from doing surgery to get rid of the cancer. If they do surgery he'll have a higher risk of dying than if they don't. And today we found out that he has a heart murmur (which will lead to heart failure). So the doctors told me that there isn't much they can do to save his life, they can just give him medication for the heart murmur (heart murmur is when the heart is leaking). So me, my boyfriend and my son (step-son actually) are literally counting down the days to when my poor puppy's eyes will never open again. </3

Im so sorry to hear that. A couple years ago my dog got cancer and there was nothing we could do. I also had to count down the days...there is nothing more painful then to go through that. *hug*

Oh no...

I'm extremely sorry. Try not to count them down. Just enjoy the time. I'm sorry. Hug? I saw Adofo's post. You have a right to be upset. You can vent on me, if you like. It's okay to cry.

I won't vent on you... I'm venting on myself. The bad thing is that my boyfriend's son is a little child who doesn't understand why the dog will never wake up again. I have no idea how to explain why there will only be one dog and two cats in the family instead of two dogs and two cats.

You're totally right Chee. Right now the whole family is suffering, even my other pets. My older dog knows that a member of his pack is dying so he's really mopey and my cats are lacking their usual confidence.

*nod* when my dog got cancer his sister who we also owned and her two pups all noticed the difference in his behavior. He stopped playing with the pups, which i think was on of the harder things to see.

Yep. They know. Which makes it worse because then everyone is all "meh".
