Hm, I may give few tips.

1 - If you're drawing a lion/lioness first draw a sketch (with a green, red or blue brush) on the background layer, if you need a sketch help how to draw, you may look in few tutorials.

2 - Create a new layer above the background and if you wish, name it "Lines" or "Lineart" then start slowly drawing the character of yours.

3 - When the line art is done, make a new layer under it and name it "colours" or "Colouring". When that is donw, go to the line art layer and use the magic wand and select the area around your drawing, then go to Select>Inveset (I dunno if I spelled it right), the go to modify>contract. If you use a 5pixel (Tablet) brush, or 3pixel mouse brush, enter contract by 1 and hit OK. Then go to the colouring layer and fll the area with the colour, don't deselect the layer till you finish colouring it till the end.

4 - When you're done, deselect the layer and select inverset only, don't contract it, make a new layer above and call it "Shade" or "Shading", use a very dark blue or red for the shading, you'll have to decide where the shading is suppose to be, depends from where the light comes. When you're done, change the layer to Multiply and set the opacity on 30%

I hope these help ^^; ask me something else and I will give you the answer :)
Happy drawing ^^

Thanks, I do half of that, apart from no.3 and setting the shading to multiply, I do the opacity (sometimes) and with coloring, I normally just paint the whole thing (I enjoy it XD)
