The pictures are simple headshots of Ahadi as a cub, and the versions of the book as well as my theory. The blank spots with the '?' means that it's not stated what colour that place of his body is. I have my own theory in as well. The headshots don't look great, but they weren't supposed to look cool anyway. XD

According to the written parts of the book, Ahadi has a goldish fur, like Simba's, and pitch black mane. The strange thing is, in the 2 pictures shown of Ahadi in that book, he just looks like a slightly darker version of Mufasa with a bigger cheek..
The reason some artist draw him goldish with black mane, is because it would make better sense if you compare the looks of Mufasa and Scar and mix them together. For myself, I like the Ahadi design DJ coulz made on DA.
But his built and facial structure can be seen in the pictures, they're just wrongly coloured.

I'm sorry to keep repeating myself, but Ahadi is never described as having golden fur in the text of "A Tale of Two Brothers". He is only described as having "a long black mane and bright green eyes". I've used many different versions of him, but I think I'm sticking with his illustrated version combined with his written description: caramel-colored fur with green eyes and a black mane (though with a different mane style than he is shown with in the book).

One interesting thing about Ahadi's illustrations is that he has bright orange fur under his eyes, looking a little like Kiara in that respect.

Okay, I believe you, but how comes all fanart artists give him (almost) the same goldish yellow fur colour?

You don't have to take my word for it; you can read the story I linked to and see for yourself.

As for why almost all artists give him bright golden fur, I'm not sure. One guess is that a lot of people give Ahadi and Uru colors similar to Scar and Mufasa, and since giving Ahadi dark fur would make his colors a bit too similar to Scar's (especially with the green eyes and black mane), a lot of people give him golden fur while Uru has dark fur. (Maybe someone should make a poll asking artists that give Ahadi gold fur what made them decide to do that. : ) )

Oi, Akril is right! I thought it was stated in the book, but the book doesn't give info about his fur colour! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it.
