Alone I stood,
My gentle heart racing,
Hand in yours.
Though only a dream,
Your love eclipsed my being.
For there I stood,
Right hand over my heart,
Thinking of the dream,
That killed me inside.
Alone I stood,
Thinking of a love,
That will never be.

Words went through her lips,
like an atom bomb,
killing all the surroundings,
of my heart.
Each word,
was like a strike-out,
on the baseball field,
of my love.
Only I knew what went on,
that fateful day,
as the atom bombs flew,
a tear shed from my unforgiven eye.
