After being pushed back a little bit, voting for the first contest has concluded today, and I'm happy to say that we're at least doing as well as the TLK Writing Contest so far! I'm proud to announce the first winner of the Off Topic Writing Contest...

That said, we'll be moving on to begin the next contest now. For this contest, you can write fan fiction (for anything that isn't TLK) or you can write your own original story. The subject matter is entirely up to you, but if you can't think of something on your own, feel free to make use of these optional prompts:

• There, in the restaurant, he knew the meaning of ignorance.
• She will be my greatest betrayer.
• The river was the light of my life and the bane of my existence.

The rules are as follows:

• Stories must be at least 1000 words in length, but should not exceed 4000 (a few words over will be fine)
• In accordance with site rules, they must be rated no higher than PG-13, nothing too explicit people!
• Cannot be plagiarized, or something you wrote previously for another purpose. Entries for this contest that were not completed on time may be submitted to a future contest.

To submit a story, PM it to me by the 25th of August (I will post the voting round on the morning of the 26th). The voting round will remain open until the first of next month so that I can start a regular cycle of beginning the contest on the first each month. So, other than that, have fun and happy writing!

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting to win this, especially as I ended up writing that little story in a hurry while I was at work! Thanks whoever voted for me!

Hopefully I'll get time on my week off next week to write something for this next one.

Busy people take a while, come on. If you can be called "busy" when you're goofing off all the time.

As a general reminder folks, I've got one entry thusfar and there's just over a week for submissions left!

Anyway, I may just be able to scrape up a submission. IDK. It's first chapter of a fanfic I started a while ago for an anime. Are things like that allowed, or does the submission have to be a full complete story?

What happened to the submission you were writing?

I don't think that would work considering it's supposed to be something written for the contest. I mean it wouldn't be fair to those who do write something fresh for it if others get to just use something they had already started.

Finish it then, come on, you can get it over 1000 words in a few days.

If I don't get another story by Tuesday, I'll extend the deadline by a week. I need another story or two though guys! Let's not let this competition be a flop!
