My Poems

These are just poems that I've made. ^^

Man and his unknown brother

"He walks by alone.
flowers and flags lining his path.
He reads each name out loud like he had always known them,
like they were his family, his friends.
Names he never knew in person,
but he knew that they were the names of family.

He stops and places his hand on a single name.
A name he never knew existed before today.
But it was a name he would always remember.
The name of a brother he may not have known,
but a brother just the same."

Sounds of Life

She sits on her own,
in a place that she cannot call her own.
In a place where her dreams were grounded,
and her fears were heightened.
A place where she saw no color,
saw no light,
saw no hope.

A lake sits in her view.
It's shores were dark, but it's waters darker still.
A baron place it looked,
where life was sad and meaningless.
Where life seemed to cry and make ripples on it's surface.

She looks across this one small lake,
and sees an island, cut off from her life.
And on this island, she sees a house,
small and old as it stood on its own.
And from this house, she hears a sound.
Faint as it was, for she was so far away,
but a sound just the same.
The sounds of a piano being played on this day,
the sounds of life in this baron place.

To Glory

She stood alone against the darkness.
With each passing second, another shadow appears.
She looks on, looking for weakness, looking for escape.

Her sword feels heavy on her side.
She fingers the hilt as an option comes to mind.
She draws this sword and prepares to fight.
"To Glory!" She shouts with all her might, as she plunges head-first into the darkest night...

For You

Oceans are shallow while searching for you.
Valleys are narrow while calling for you.
Mountains are step-stools while pleading for you.
Armies are weaklings while fighting for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Homeland

A calm sea stretching to the horizon.
Filled with floating mountains of ice.
The lights of the sky reflect off the water,
every star a tiny dot on it's surface.
These dots are disturbed by a movement in the water.
A lonely man in his trusty little boat, with nothing but ice to keep him company.
Once a year he comes ashore, with stories beyond one's imagination.
Tales of his homeland, a place to mysterious for words.

Tales of mermaids who help him fish, their laughter and songs filling the night.

Tales of bells he would hear in the distance.
Not of another boat, no, the bells of a world far below human exploration.
A symphony of chimes from all directions that lulled him to sleep each night.

He tells tales of a sea monster that patrols these waters.
It can crush boats in an instant, and shatter icebergs.
When the waters are calm, the monster is calm, happily swimming around his territory.
When the waters are rough, the monster is asleep at the bottom of the ocean,
his snores so loud that the water fear it, and tried to move away.

But through all tales of encounters he has had, there is only one thing that scares him,
though he only hears it every once in a very long while.
The sounds of an Organ drifting over the water,
and the cries of every sea-dwelling creature.
A signal of the death of the king of the seas.
And as the Mermen fight to assume his throne, huge storms rage.
These storms cannot be navigated through,
cannot be fought against,
cannot be trusted.

And when all is said in done, everything becomes quiet.
A quiet so haunting he is forced to stay awake.
After a few days, this haunting goes away.
But, he wonders, when will a new king decide his boat must go?
When will he be a goner to his homeland of the sea?
