Not many things changed in Kingdom of Corona. It was always a nice and pleasant place to live in, but its inhabitants were now happy to have their lost princess back to their home. And Rapunzel was definitely the princess worth waiting for! So, now they had tradition to celebrate Rapunzel's birthday every year, not only for birthday, but also for a joyous reminder that people shouldn't give up on those whom they love. They might find a way to come back to you someday, just like Rapunzel did.

Now, more than 16 years has passed since then, but Rapunzel still felt like it was yesterday. Every day was filled with joy now, as she finally had a real family - real parents who wouldn't lock her up in a tower, real husband who loved her unconditionally, and of course - three children. Their names are Kattina, Adillene and Swajith. They all meant a world to Rapunzel.

Her parents still kept launching lanterns to the air on her birthday, but this time, they were happy to do it. It stopped being a sad remind that the princess was lost, but a great way to celebrate her daughter's birthday. Rapunzel still loved them, and she was glad that she could now watch it every year in person, with her beloved family.

That day she was painting the room in her castle. She was glad to do that, since one of the things she missed from her prison tower was the fact that she could paint the walls anyway she wants to.

This time, she drew a great painting of her family. It was so life-like, you could see it breathing.

Her father came to her room just to say: "WOW, this is really beautiful!"

"Thanks, dad," Rapunzel was confused, "I'm glad you like it. You might show it to mother to."

Little chameleon named Pascal was still always with Rapunzel in everything she did. He was there to comfort her, but he also loved to have some fun, especially with Rapunzel's children. He kept on using his color-changing ability to hide from them, and to express his emotions. He enjoyed life in the palace, and finally being able to be free.

Princess Adillene was Rapunzel and Eugene's second-born daughter. She was the only one who inherited her mother's golden hair powers. She often wished that she didn't, but she didn't want to upset her parents. And she really wanted to have shorter hair, but she knew that it would lose its powers if she did that.

So, she just sighed and decided to go to the lunchroom. All of her siblings and the rest of the royal family should already be there. And she was a bit hungry.

Eugene couldn't have been happier with his new life. He was able to live in a castle like he wanted, but instead of being alone, he was with his one true love, her parents, and their three kids. Of course, he had stopped being a thief, but he didn't really miss that. He still used his tricks every now and then, especially with Rapunzel's crown. The times he really enjoyed was when it would take her a long time to realize it was missing, giving Eugene plenty of time to hide it. And it was better hidden than when Rapunzel tried hiding it in the tower.

Maximus still helped keep the kingdom safe from any criminals, so long as he got plenty of apples as a reward. When he wasn't hunting down criminals, he would either sleep in the stables or be giving a ride to Kattina. The eldest child of Rapunzel and Eugene had always admired Maximus, and since she was a little girl, she wanted to ride Maximus whenever she could. Sometimes, if she had been really busy during the day, she would wander out late at night and sneak in a ride. It was very relaxing and helped her clear her mind of all the royal responsibilities. Not that Kattina didn't like all the responsibility put on her, but since she was heir to the throne, she had a lot on her plate, and by the time she was done, she was ready for bed. But she couldn't go to sleep with lots of thoughts running through her head, which is why she would go out and ride Maximus.

Swajith was the baby of the family. There was no doubt about that. Since he wasn't heir to the throne and he didn't have to worry about having powers, he would spend almost all of his days playing in his room or running around the castle. He kept himself busy, which Kattina appreciated whenever she had to watch him, but he could be really loud, which annoyed Kattina when she was reading or studying. Sometimes he would get into mischief, taking things he shouldn't. Eugene thought maybe his son would become a good thief one day, although he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

Kattina was the first to notice Adilenne walk into the lunchroom, although Eugene noticed her only a second later. "You're late," the eldest child said. "We've been waiting for you for five minutes." Kattina wasn't really unhappy about that, per se. Sure, she was hungry, but it had only been five minutes. She was really just jealous that her sister got the healing powers their mom once had and she didn't, even though she was the first one born. She could tell at times that her sister didn't want the powers, which made Kattina wish she had them that much more. She would never wish she didn't have the powers. Not for even a second.

Rapunzel was a bit annoyed by her husband's will to hide her crown so often, but it's not like she could judge him. Once in the past, she did something similar to him. So, even though she didn't like it, she tolerated it. She understood how much living in the castle meant to Eugene. To her, it wasn't that much of a big deal, her tower was also beautiful, but it was a prison. Here, she felt free! Her life actually begun!

She was glad to see the whole family together for lunch. That was her favorite part of it. Of course, no one in her family did cooking, that was servants' job. Rapunzel would feel bad about it, but those servants were paid well, and they thought it was an honor to serve noble family of Corona. She wasn't mad at Adilenne for coming to lunch 5 minutes later, but she wasn't happy to see how two girls rivaled each other, in front of the whole family.

"So what if I were late for five minutes!?" Adilenne responded. "It's not like you are never late. And Swajith is sometimes late too. Why are you attacking only me?"

Kattina looked at her sister in surprise. She almost never shouted. "I'm sorry," Kattina said, trying not to be angry anymore. "I guess I'm just really hungry, and since you were late, I snapped at you. I didn't mean to." While that wasn't entirely the truth, she didn't want to bring up the powers, so she used hunger as the excuse. She really was sorry for snapping at Adilenne, though, and she hadn't expected her sister to yell at her like that, especially not then. "Come on. Join us. I hear the lunch is supposed to be spectacular today."

Adilenne smiled at her sister. She understood very well that her excuse wasn't 100% true, but she didn't want any more fighting, especially not in presence of her parents and grandparents. Of course, Pascal too. He was always with them on lunch. So, she realized that just sitting so that they could eat in peace was the best option.

"Mmmm, cooked rice!" She loved that, and she starting eating very fast, and not at all the way you'd imagine princesses to eat. She didn't care for manners so much when she didn't have to. She didn't care about not having manners in front of her family!

Rapunzel looked disapprovingly at both of them. "If I catch you fighting any time soon again, I'll make sure to punish you," she said. She didn't know how seriously she sounded, since she was always gentle, but she couldn't stand to see rivalry between her girls. Especially since both of them had something to be proud of - Kattina was a crown princess, and Adilenne was the one with powers. Rapunzel was glad to have a child with powers, even though she was also glad that she doesn't have them anymore.

"Sorry, mum," sad Adilenne, but she wasn't that sorry. She didn't do almost anything. It's Kattina who should apologize.

"Yeah, I'm sorry, too," Kattina said, eating her rice in a more proper fashion, unlike her sister. "I didn't mean to cause a fight. I was just stating facts."

"Well, Kattina, I suggest you be a little more thoughtful with what you say, and be careful with how you say things," Eugene said.

"Yes, Father," she said. She knew she had a sharp tongue most of the time, and even when she didn't mean to, things would come out in a bad way, like it had a few minutes prior. She continued eating the rice, not looking up at anyone until she was finished. Swajith ate his rice quickly, making a huge mess while doing so.

"Swajith, please slow down," his grandmother, Helga, said. "It's not prince-like to eat that fast or make that much of a mess. Adilenne, you too, dear. Even if you might not be queen one day, you're still a princess, and you need to act like one."

Adilenne wanted to say many things to Kattina about "stating facts" but remembered what their mum said. She really didn't want to get them both punished. Plus, she hated rivalry and competitiveness, and she really wished her sister was the same. They are sisters, why can't they just get along? And why did Kattina hate that much anyway? Adilenne couldn't remember that she ever did something bad for her. At least, not on purpose.

"Adilenne, dear?" King Eliezer interrupted. "Why aren't you eating?"

Right then Adilenne realized that she'd been lost in thoughts for at least 3 minutes, staring at one dot on the wall. "Oh, of course," and she continued eating.

"Yes, Grandmother," she said after hearing her scolding both her and Swajith. "I'll try to eat more politely."

She did however continue to eat a bit more politely, but still far from the way princesses are supposed to eat.

Helga watched her granddaughter's eating habits. Even though she didn't say anything else, she still wasn't happy about how Adilenne ate. She made a mental note to talk to her daughter about that later. Swajith had slowed down his eating, though, and ate almost exactly like a prince, which made Helga happy.

When Kattina finished the rice, she pushed the plate away, dismissing herself and walking up to her room for some quiet time. She sat down on her bed with one of her favorite books, although she wasn't able to understand much because her mind was on the latest events with her sister. She hated fighting with her sister, but she couldn't help it most of the time. Sure, she was the crown princess, but she wasn't the one with powers, and the one that did have them often wished she didn't. She hated that. If anything, she wished Adilenne would at least appreciate them more.

"You are not supposed to push that plate like that!" said Rapunzel, but Kattina couldn't hear her from such a distance. For a moment, Rapunzel thought of following Kattina, but decided not to. She understood that her daughter needed some time alone. She didn't say anything to Adilenne too. She wished that she could help them, but she had no idea.

"What are we going to do?" she asked Eugene, hoping that her husband will have some ideas.

Adilenne went to her room too. She didn't understand what happened. She really loved her sister dearly, but she sure could be an asshole. She didn't think at all that the reason for her approach was her powers. I mean, why would anyone want that? She has very long hair, without right to cut it, she has to hide from people who might use her for them and all. Her sister had everything. She even had more beautiful room. Why?

Eugene looked over at his wife for a second before turning away, sighing and shaking his head. "I don't know honestly," he said. "I think it would be best if we didn't try to get between them, though. It would probably be best if they worked out their problems on their own. I'm sure it will be fine soon. Maybe, to help, you should help show Kattina the benefits of being crown princess and help her realize she doesn't really need those powers that her sister has."
