Prisoner of Oblivion (Shadowfax and MrTitans)

Postby Shadowfax » April 20th, 2015, 10:13 pm

The Oblivion Crisis which had claimed many lives and devastated many lands came to an end just over 200 years ago when Martyn Septim closed the gates, for what he atleast thought was going to be for eternity. The lands of Cyrodil rejoiced in his victory and mourned his death at the same time. The Oblivion Crisis was an event written down in the history books and his name passed into legend.

To the north, in the land of Skyrim however they had escaped the Oblivion crisis all those years ago. Although they had heard about the tales, some didn't believe it had actually even happened. But they were soon going to be proved wrong.

On a cold morning at the foot of the mountains near Riften, a faint glowing was seen in the middle of the air. There was then a rumble and two stone pillars suddenly shot out the ground to create an arch way. The glowing light suddenly got brighter and soon looked like fire. In the middle of the fire a figure suddenly appeared at first a mere shadow, and then the form of a person. A young woman, who fell to the floor at the foot of the gate.

As ...... walked into Whiterun he was tired from his journey from Cyrodil. He went to the blacksmith since it was right next to the gate. He asked Adrianne Avenicci who was outside operating the leather rack. ..... asked where is the nearest inn and general goods store. When he got the information he went to the general store he sold some of the skins and hide he had gathered while traveling to Whiterun. He then went to the local tavern to get caught up on the most recent rumors and get some mead for his belly.

The soft snow broke her fall as she landed side-wards on the floor. Her face was dirty, a small gash ran down her cheek and underneath the dirt she looked very pale. The gate behind her shone brightly and illuminated the whole area around her with a eeiree orange. Animals caught sight of it and fled almost immediately as if knowing the danger that lie beyond the gate.

An hour or so later after the gate appeared, the young Breton's fingers moved slightly in the snow, trying to grip for something. When she felt the strange substance between her fingers, her eyes flew open, head shot up and she looked about her alarmed. Mountains? Snow? A huge drop in temperature. She had no recollection of this place. The distant roar of a dragon sent shivers down her spine and when she looked behind her eventually, she saw the gate.

Her eyes glazed over and she began to crawl away from it out of sheer fear, whimpering as she went. Once a little way from the gate, she fumbled around looking for her daggers which she couldn't find sending her into yet more panic. Then something else hit her which she hadn't realized yet. Where were the armies? And worst of all.. where was?

"MARTYN!?!" She yelled out as loudly as she could.

Rallus then headed back to the blacksmith to replace some of the arrows that broke on his way to Whiterun. He saw a sharping station and went to it to sharpen his wood cutting axe. When he was satisfied with the sharpness of the axe he got up and thanked her for letting him use the station. He then realized he was out of paper and ink for his journal so he went to the General store to buy somemore. He went to his last stop before he would look for a place to practice shooting his bow. He arrived to the grocery stand outside and got some beef with some maize and a potato to eat for the night.

While doing this he noticed this was way to populated for his liking and decided that he would not stay here for a month, but only a week to head back to Riverwood because he likes the river as a sound to help sleep at night and wasn't hustle and bustle of a city. He liked to adventure out rather than staying in one place for to long. He then headed to a building that look like to him it seemed as the fighters guild and walked around back to see if they have an archery range. He asked if he could shoot for a bit.

After a few hours of practice he headed back to inn and rented a room for a week. He went to the cooking pot to make his nightly meal. After about thirty minutes he had meal to eat so he bought some mead to drink with. When he was done he went to the bookshelf to see what books they had and two books caught his attention. The Crisis in Cyrodil and Dragons Beware. He asked if he could keep in his room to read for the week. He then went to his room and shut the door and pulled out his lute to practice playing for a bit before he would turn in for the night to sleep for the night.

The Breton struggled to her feet and again, frantically looked about her trying to get her bearings and try to locate something familiar. All around was silent however so she could only hear her raspy breath against the air. Suddenly she became aware of something around her wrist. An amulet on a chain... but not just any amulet... The...

"Am..ulet.. of kings?" She whispered, sounding even more confused.

That moment a passing hunter rode past, a sabre cats fur slung over his brown horses back. He looked up at the gateway behind her rather than at her, drawing his bow.

"What in the name of Talos is THAT?!" He yelled over at her.

The Breton looked confused, looked back at the gate and then at the hunter who looked like he was made for this kind of weather.

"It's an Oblivion gate you fool... Tell me, where are the armies? Where is Martyn? What happened to the city of Cyrodil?" The Breton called back.

"I dunno what mead you've been drinking, Breton... But you're in Skyrim. I have no idea who, Martyn is and the city of Cyrodil is still standing" The Hunter said, riding off into the undergrowth.

The Breton watched him leave, too lost for words to even call him back. She looked at the amulet and slowly put it in her pocket. Nobody had any idea how valuable it was so she decided to keep it hidden. So many questions ran through her head. Where was Martyn? How did she get to Skyrim? Was the Oblivion crisis over? How was she going to get back to Cyrodil. It was going to be a long journey. She decided to make for a main city. Get herself a map and make her way back home.

The Imperial remembered about the Crisis, but didn't know much about it because it did not have any meaning to him. So he decided to catch up on his history to find out what actually happened to the city and the ruler of Tamierl. It didn't take long before he realized that hours had passed because of the amazing story it was. He made a mental note to travel to a library to look up who the Mythic Dawn are and what they represent.

He also realized he need to get a horse to make his travels easier so with the remaining day in Whiterun he will work for gold to earn a horse because he needs to visit the College of Winterhold because in Cyrodil he asked the wizard if there was a way to shrink and alter the weight of items to make it better to carry more items to like pelts and fur. His last thing he has to do is head to the guilds hideout to meet with the headmaster

The Breton after some time managed to find a path and after about two hours of struggling through undergrowth and sheer rocky hills, it was a welcome sight to her. Slowly she began wandering along it, lost in some sort of trace, hoping she was in a dream. The rolling hills were very different here compared to Cyrodil and buildings were far scarcer our here. A fork in the road halted her and as she looked up, she noticed some signs. One read 'Riften' which indicated behind her. The one to the North read 'Windhelm' and Winterhold' and the other pointing to a city called 'Whiterun'

She muttered the words 'Whiterun' She had heard it was the central city in Skyrim, so just assumed it would be the largest. Decision made, she turned onto the left path and made her way towards the city of Whiterun. She gently placed a hand over her pocket, just checking that the precious amulet was still with her. The only thing that she had that was close to her.

As he started to read about the crisis he did not realize how the king could predict his own death. That blew his mind as well as he kept one of his sons in secret that he also didn't know that his father was a king. Another thing he noted that the Mytic Dawn were behind this. So he planned to get more information about them to see what they are about and what possible motives they could have had. He read that Martyn became a statue where he defeated Dagon and was kept in one piece to remember his sacfirce he would make sure the he would go pay his respects to him. After reading that he took a break from reading and went to go sit out in the courtyard and just people watch and enjoy the weather. He like going out and seeing how beautiful of a place tamerial is.

The Breton felt like she had been on the roads for weeks, though it had only been two days. She had made makeshift camps in small little woodlands on the roadsides, but had avoided castles and ruins purely down to the fact that she might run into some bandits. They wouldn't know what value the amulet had, but she wasn't going to take any chances.

Pretty soon she was out in the wide open plains nearby to Whiterun. She looked like a lowly traveler to anyone else, though she was a captain in Martyn's armies back in Cyrodil. As she proceeded onward something made her halt and go into a defensive stance as she saw a giant suddenly appear before her. The whole ground around her shook and the giant looked down on her with small beady eyes as he passed. She took a deep breath thinking he would hit her into the ground with that huge club, but he merely passed by towards a large fire in the south. Feeling rather on edge, she began to jog towards the large city in the distance.

The Imperial began to walk around the city to see what kind of situation the poor were in if they were having issues with actually getting food and stuff like that. He then made sure that these people would be better off in the long run to help the guild. He then looked at his pouch of gold and notice he is still a bit short from being able to buy a horse to be able to lighten the load that he has been carrying for sometime now. Spells can only do so much he thought as he was smiling thinking that if he worked into the night he would be able to have just enough to buy one. So he went to start chopping firewood for the general store to make sure he had enough wood to sale for a long time to come.
