I smiled at him, then I said, "Okay, you sing the first verse."

"Okay," I said, and then began singing.

We continued on like this for the next few hours, practicing the different songs. I looked out the window and saw a few of the merfolk swimming towards the concert room. "I guess that's our cue to get going," I said.

I looked out the window and took a deep breath, saying, "Okay." Then I started to swim toward the concert room.

I followed after her, going behind the building so no one saw us enter. "Don't worry. I have that song memorized now, and we have all of the other songs that we were doing on our honeymoon memorized as well, so we don't have to worry about anything," I said.

I looked at Derek and said, "I know, I just wonder.... Will they like us?"

"Melody, all of your aunts and your mother sing, and everyone loved it when they did. I'm sure they'll love it when you sing, too," I said.

I sighed, then I hugged him, saying, "Alright, if you say so. I love you, Derek."

"I love you, too. And you'll do just fine. I promise," I said, kissing her softly. When we entered the back room, I grabbed a guitar and slipped the string over my head and tuned it a little bit. "You ready?" I asked.

I took a deep breath and said, "Yeah. As ready as I'll ever be." I smiled at him, hoping that he knows that I'm alright.

I smiled back at her, and we swam out into the room with everyone cheering. I waited for Melody to begin the first song.
