Lilykit nodded. "Oh," she mewed quietly. She wasn't necessarily afraid of the seeds. Now that she knew to not touch a seed she didn't know about, or to always ask the difference between two similar-looking seeds like poppy and foxglove, she wasn't scared of it. But what did concern her was Littlekit and the other kits. She loved her sister very much, and the two were quite close, both being similar in appearance, personality, and dare she say, size.
But even though she had to occasionally convince herself that she didn't hate Fogkit, Shrewkit, or Sparrowkit, she did love Sparrowkit despite all the mean remarks he made to her. And even though Fogkit and Shrewkit were not kin, it would kill her to realize that one of the kits had gotten ill, or worse, died, because she hadn't warned them about the seeds.
She had a strange feeling of guilt if something ever happened to the kits, even if it was something subtle like a scratch or a slightly sprained paw or a head that had been hit. That didn't mean she went around blaming herself for things left and right, but she did occasionally get the feeling that she could have stopped a kit from getting hurt, like if she had warned them not to play by the stinging nettle patch, or if she had told them it might have been dangerous to be fighting with claws out.
But as she studied more of the herbs, being careful not to trip and scatter them by mistake or something, she wondered: Would I ever be good enough for Bluestrike's apprentice? I might be too young to think about that... but Sparrowkit is always saying how he wished Bramblestripe would be his mentor. And we're all about the same ages...
For one, Bramblestripe was the father of his friends, Shrewkit and Fogkit, of course he'd want his friends' father to be his mentor. And two, Bramblestripe was quite a strong, powerful warrior. She noticed that he was fairly popular among the Clan. Perhaps Sparrowkit thought that Bramblestripe could be his mentor, the brown tabby tom would make him a great and powerful warrior someday...
She snapped from her thoughts a little. "Bluestrike, I... I promise I wasn't eavesdropping or anything, but I overheard some of the elders speaking about kits being endangered by herbs. Is that true?" she asked.
[Shall we timeskip to just one hour later or so where Lilykit goes back to the nursery with Littlekit?
And that was one of the longest posts I've ever written in a roleplay in fanfiction-style. Mostly all the thoughts and stuff take it up [not completely just thoughts. But still]. And I regret nothing. Muahaha.
Also, let's not bother with elder names or whatnot.]
