Aimee just closed her eyes when the man picked her up, she found his body heat somewhat comforting and nestled into his arm. She heard him call out, for someone, not something presumably. She caught the word 'Jane', it must of been a name.

Jane had just been sketching a small bird that had landed on a branch just outside the treehouse, of course, Jane being her usual self had tried and failed to climb the tree so instead sat below it on a lower down branch. She heard Tarzan arrive back for he called her name, she smiled and carefully got down, making sure to grab her notebook.

She went back through the window where she had gotten out from and then heard him say he had found a cub. The English woman was curious as to what kind of cub and when Tarzan finally entered the tree house. She took a moment just to gaze at the man she loved. Of course, it was difficult to be around him when he was just in a loincloth all day. Jane had taken a much more relaxed view on clothing, with shorts and a t-shirt being her daily clothing.

Tarzan's speech had developed well, he had an accent but still sounded English actually, Jane assumed it was because he had learned to speak and read from her. She walked over to him and looked at the light tan ball of fur in his arms. Aimee rolled over and then opened her eyes, at seeing a new human just suddenly in front of her she began to struggle a bit. Moving around in the man's arms forgetting that her cub claws were still quite sharp.

Jane was in awe though,
"Tarzan, I've never seen an African lion with blue eyes before. This is extraordinary. I mean, I've heard white lions have blue eyes but, she's not a white lion. She is a little lighter than most though". She then gave a concerned look to the cub before looking at Tarzan again,
"She looks underfed though...where did you find her? Was she alone?". Jane knew Tarzan could communicate with animals better than her, but she was learning.

Her hand reached forward to pet the lion cub, and Aimee flinched,
"Hey now, it's ok". Jane's voice was soothing, and yet she was still talking in English. Aimee couldn't understand how she could feel comforted without knowing what it meant. Jane reached forward again, and slowly began stroking the cub's head, scratching behind her ears like she would a domestic cat. Aimee felt a purr escape at the warm and gentle hand. "She's beautiful isn't she?", she murmured quietly, directing this at Tarzan.

Tarzan was in awe at how beautiful Jane looked, "Yes, she is." Gestering to her instead of the cub. "And the cub is too." Smiling at the cub, who seemed soothed now. "I found her in a crate, I smelt a familiar smell, but I couldn't recall what." Trying to remember the scent, but it was probably just another animal. "She was alone, and smelt nothing like a lion should." Almost cradling her in his large arms.

"I say we keep her, and let her live with us." Smiling at Jane, who was more beautiful than ever. "Would you like to stay with us?" He asked the lion cub in the lion language, which he only just begun to teach Jane.

Jane just blushed, she was quite a shy woman, and was flattered by almost any compliment anyone gave her. When it came from Tarzan it meant a whole lot more. Aimee however was silently listening to the two. The words made no sense to her, apart from the word lion. She almost had a heart attack when she could understand the man. Aimee thought about it, being young she didn't have too much to think about. All she knew was that her parents were gone, and that these humans seemed nice.

Even a cub as young as her knew she wouldn't survive out there on her own. After a few moments, she nodded,
"Um...o-ok", saying as quietly as possible. To Jane it sounded like a mixture of mews and low rumbling noises, but obviously Tarzan understood. The sun was setting and Aimee let out a yawn. Jane could see she was tired and quickly fumbled around. She found what she was looking for. Tarzan had never wanted to chuck away the cot he had as a baby, she got a few blankets and placed them inside.

"Do you think she'd be ok in your old cot Tarzan?", she asked before looking at the cub again. Jane was just thinking to herself when she wondered if the cub had a name. She thought about what she had picked up from Tarzan before and said,
"Name?". Aimee's ear's perked up, the female human could speak her language to. "Name?", Jane said again.
"Aimee...", the cub said before yawning again. "Jane", she said pointing to herself, "Tarzan", she said pointing at her husband.

Aimee sat up in Tarzan's arms. She could of sworn she had heard that name before though. Aimee gave a nod, showing she understood. The cub tried to move again, and suddenly fell out of his arms. She landed with a thump, but soon stood up. Jane gasped,
"Are you ok?", she said, in human on accident. Aimee could see the worry though and just nodded, understanding the body language instead. Aimee felt a little less weak then she did.

She took a few steps and walked around the treehouse, sniffing cautiously. Jane just watched with curiousity and talked to Tarzan in human again,
"I wonder where her parents are? And what she would be doing in a crate?". She thought for a moment and then frowned, "You don't think, maybe...there are poachers around again?". Sighing Jane ran a hand through her hair, "We've had enough of poachers to last a life time. Anyway, I am making an educated guess that Aimee is hungry, what should we give her though, it's to late for you to go hunting now, I worry about you Tarzan". Jane gave him a loving smile before she saw something out of the corner of her eye.

It was another rat, she groaned, she didn't expect there to be so many in the jungle. Aimee turned around and her eyes fixed on the rat. She may of not been an adult, not even a teenager, but with one little jump she pounced on it. She had watched her parents hunt before and following example, bit at the rat's neck. It fought back of course, scratching her nose, but it wasn't a match for a bundle of fur with sharp claws and equally sharp teeth. Once it was dead she proudly picked it up in her mouth and sat with it for a moment.

Jane had watched the whole thing and grimaced at the blood stain on the floor, and then managed to crack a smile at the proud look on the cub's face.
"Well, she's just like a domestic cat, getting rid of the rats". Aimee began to chew on it and Jane looked away, not really liking the look of rat being slowly chewed up. "At least we don't have to worry about food for now, but if she can kill a rat at that age, I wonder what she could do in a years time. You sure she's going to be safe? Lions and leopards are in the same family tree after all...", she said, referring to Sabor. She had heard the stories about him, and was glad Tarzan killed him before she was around.

Tarzan chringed to the sound of poachers being in the jungle again, and let out a violent sigh. "Poachers are better to stay away from my family." Almost growling and showing his teeth, then jerking head head to look at the ground and calm himself down again. "No need to worry Jane, I've been out way longer than this." Smiling at her and caressing her face with his hand. The smooth texture of her skin always gave him chills.

Tarzan aswell watched Amy kill the large rat. "She'll be fine to live here. We will treat her like one of our own, make her an equal to us. She's a cub now, but if we treat her like family, then she'll love us." Recalling the childhood where Kala treated him as equal, and was his mother his entire life.

Jane placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, and pulled him into a hug, and spoke quietly
"Well, at least we know Clayton is gone for good". When he touched her face she blushed and giggled like a teenager. Aimee was too busy chewing until there was nothing left. Jane listened to Tarzan and finally nodded in agreement,
"Why not? We'd be like...a little family I suppose". She smiled at the thought before hearing Aimee yawn again. She bent down to pick her up, and Aimee flinched again. She would have to get used to the human contact.

Aimee slowly came towards Jane's hands and Jane was as gentle as possible in picking her up. She was reasonably light to Jane's surprise. Aimee immediately purred at the warmth and nuzzle into Jane's arms. Her whiskers tickled and Jane laughed, she had always been ticklish. It was dark outside now, and Jane carried her over to Tarzan's old cot.

She placed Aimee in it and the cub pawed at the blankets, Jane petted her again and smiled, she was going to have to learn lion for this to be able to work. Aimee was just getting comfortable. The cub was thankful for the comfort, and her thoughts had been distracted, but she knew the moment she went to sleep she'd have nightmares.

Meanwhile, Jane had grabbed her night dress and before she went behind the curtain in the room she looked at Tarzan and smiled,
"I'm just getting changed....um....the beds all made and stuff so I'll see you upstairs in a minute". She of course meant that in a completely innocent way. Tarzan knew nothing of human romance, but he was so loving and gentle, in almost an animal way. They had built a small upstairs room to the treehouse for the bed.

(OOC: I dunno, a little bit of romance between Tarzan and Jane next? ^.^ And I'm having Aimee have a nightmare and come up the stairs and sleep on the end of their bed, just for the early hours of the morning I guess)

Tarzan smiled at the lion cub, almost never having something to take care of in his life besides Jane. It made him feel happy, like a father, some would say. Yet, without a word, while Jane was changing, he went outside and grabbed a big boquet of flowers and sprinkled them of the bed. He put out some of the candles to make it dim. A little bit of romance is what he saw in the pictures Jane kept stored in her treasure chest.

As Jane came up the stairs, he grabbed her and flung her into the bed, but made sure to be gentle. Then crawled up next to her and kissed her. Almost more passionately than ever. Looking deep into her eyes, then smiling. "I love you." He could feel the tears weld up oh his eyes as he said that. He truely ment it.

Jane was almost blown away when she felt herself being thrown onto the bed, she squealed a little but was surprised at the gentleness of the fall. She blushed deeply when Tarzan kissed her, and gazed into his amazing eyes lovingly. She was almost overwhelmed with happiness at his words and she pulled him into a tight hug, "I love you more". Meanwhile, on the lower floor of the treehouse Aimee was attempted to get to sleep in the cot. Something about it made it feel cage like, but she knew she was safe though. The cub curled up and closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep.
----
Aimee could only watch on as her father's insides were slowly taken out from the skin, her eyes full of horror and shock at the distressing sight. She could only wish her mother was there to comfort her, but alas, she was nowhere in sight. Then she watched as Clayton slowly lifted up the skin, proudly showing it off. He walked over to her and placed it infront of her. "Daddy is going to be nothing more than a stuffed animal...". Amiee could understand him clearly, she shuddered and tried to look away, Clayton opening the cage and taking her out, holding her by the scruff,

"And your going to be nothing more than a stupid, little runt!", he said cruelly before hitting her square in the chest.

---
The cub woke up, breathing shallow and quick and sweat coming from under her fur. The time had passed since she fell asleep and guessed it was early hours of the morning. Her heart was pounding against her chest in fear, and it took her a little while to remember where she was. Too scared to fall back to sleep, she managed to hop out of the cot. She wearily climbed the stairs to where she saw both Tarzan and Jane go and saw them both asleep, in they're bed. Aimee cautiously padded towards it and attempted to jump up onto it, she just managed to hold onto the edge with her claws, before falling with a thump. She hoped she hadn't woken them up, but Jane seemed undisturbed.

Tarzan felt the cub climb into his bed, and smiled. "Come here Aimee." He called to her, hoping she'd join him up near the pillows. All he wanted was this cub to feel safe with them. Since her parents were no where to be found, he just wanted to have her have adoptive parents. Much like he did with Kala, which reminds him that he must show Aimee to his mother. Maybe she'd like the lioness cub, hopefully she did because Aimee was going to be her mock granddaughter!
