"Daddy? Do you think I'll be adopted today? Or tomorrow?" Jenna asked, her tail wagging hopefully.

Grizzly smiled. "I don't know exactly when, but I'm sure it will be soon. Now, why don't you come along and say goodbye to Balto one last time?" he said.

"Goodbye, Balto," she said, and licked him on his small nose. "See you soon!" she called.

Balto looked at her sadly. "Bye Jenna," he said before following Grizzly to return to the beach.

Jenna scratched on the door, wanting to go inside.

The master overheard the scratching and allowed Jenna inside. Meanwhile, Balto was finally home. "Boris, I'm back!" he shouted.

"Hey, kid," Boris said, yawning. "How'd it go?"

Grizzly looked at the goose. "Not good. The local bully, Steele, got to him again. I think it would be best if Balto stayed away for awhile until he's old enough to defend himself," he said as he sat down next to Balto.

"Ouch. Alright, I can keep him here. Whatever works," Boris replied, and ruffled the fur on Balto's head.

Grizzly nodded. "Thank you. He's a good pup, and I admire him. Take care of him," he said as he began to walk away.
