Thor finally arrived back the area. "Anything happen while I was away?" he asked.

Soerca announced, "I am the new leader of the herd, I was set to succeed Vesir. I'm his cousin, Soerca. Pronounced So-Er-Sa. Got it?"

Rzu watched, still his side hurt. He hoped Soerca would be as great of a leader as Vesir.

Aleeni dipped her head to Soerca. She felt greatly saddened by Vesir's death, despite not knowing him well. She looked up at the slope, anger for the cougar rushing through her.

Zaru stayed in the tree, hoping the cougar was far away now. She could still scent it, and didn't move.

Thor nodded. "We're glad to have you," he said.

The puma still lurked in the area, unseen.

Soerca smiled. She announced, "... we are missing a member. Where's Resora?"

Aleeni glanced upwards. The bird was not in sight, she hoped Resora was safe somewhere. Aleeni turned about, thoroughly puzzled. What could have happened while Vesir fell?

Zaru shook. She scented the cougar moving through the trees, and knew it would return to the elk. Zaru wanted to warn them, but she didn't want to get down from her safety. Her thoughts battled in her head.

However, contrary to the raccoons notions the puma would not be returning to the elk. Just yet.

Soerca called out Resora's name multiple times.

"We have to leave, there's a predator in the area," she spoke nervously, "She'll pick up the scent. Rzu, I don't have antlers for you to lean on, so you can ride on my back."

Thor stepped forward. "My pack and I together are more than a match for any puma," he stated.

Soerca replied, "Is that so? I'm glad we have a pack of wolves on our side. Now let's continue downwards off of Mt. Barrier and go through the forest. I smell a river, so we'll get to have a drink."

Thor nodded. "That's good. I need a drink and so the rest of us," he said.
