Of Might and Magic

The wastelands. Nothing much existed out there, at least nothing past the odd patrol from the Rober, a Pax Pacis spy and the odd town. That evening was no different. The dim orange glow of the setting sun made the land look like it was burning and the leader of Pax Pacis, Kivuli was on a mission. He had already made it past the patrols, and using the sewer system, snuck into the industrial city of Dalmas. The well toned lion made his way through the streets, making sure to keep his head low for any guards. His tattered trench and hood made blending alot easier but one wrong move would cause chaos

Slowly but surely he made his way through, a cool evening breeze was blowing through the streets picking up dust along the way. Kivuli got closer to one of the main military compounds. The smell of burning and heat of the forges made the job a whole lot harder. It was a harsh place. Only the forges were well kept. Workers and civilians lived in nothing past mud and straw huts. It was the soldiers that got the good life, fancy rooms with a cooling system.

Just as he was planning his entry, he saw someone he didnt expect. Cyclone, the Rober leader Of all the people to be here now it had to be you Kivuli thought to himself. Cyclone was brutal and had a good nose. Not wanting his scent caught Kivuli quickly used his claws to clamber up a nearby building looking down on Cyclone and the guards, hoping to catch any useful information, and making sure the wind didn't give up his position

Cyclone was out on patrol, he liked to be with his soldiors, not standing and preeching while never getting his spotted paws dirty. He stood with his lazer gun cocked and ready, all manner of creatures were out at this time. Rather than acting like a bullet, it melted the skin and bones of anyone it shot. He had already melted a rat that made him jump and break his usual calm appearance, but he was sure some enemy was out here. He could smell it.

Kivuli looked on, one good spell or gun shot would down the leader, but then all the soldiers would be on him in seconds. As power as he was, Kivuli would never survive that. He backed up and started looking around, searching for a way into the military base. He found it, there was a small ledge with a window not far up the wall, it was obvious what it was, Cyclones private quaters

Quietly Kivuli moved to the other side of the building and jumped down, making his way to the facility wall. Once there he looked round, he hadnt been spotted. Showing his claws, he charged some magic into them and used his power to carefully climb the wall, making sure not to be seen or heard. He reached the ledge, looking round there was no signs of detection. Using sheer force Kivuli managed to push the frame of the window hard enough to force it and catch it before it came crashing down

Kivuli was in, battle half done, now he was after the command room, and knowing Cyclone it wouldn't be far. He opened the door and looked. No guards. It was odd but Kivuli had to take the chance and go for it. He had to pick up the pace, there wasn't any one round and if he got caught he at least wanted a head start, and that he got with ease. As Kivuli predicted the command room was only a few corridors away. Looking in he saw 2 men manning some equipment. He drew his daggers, one in each hand.

Taking one last look at their positions, Kivuli burst in hurling the daggers straight for the men. Perfect shots, either the neck, head or heart, downing his only opposition. With that settled Kivuli began to look around for any battle plans or intel. There was nothing printed, so the computers it was then. Bingo, I got it! He thought. Straight away he began printing all the details, then got something he wasnt after. An alarm went off, lights and sirens were going off all over the base. It was one of the downed men, before he died, he had triggered an alarm. Kivuli had to hurry, he wasn't leaving without the plan, but time was running out
