after several rushed hours, MANY layers, a serious lack of wave tutorials I needed for this, and a sketch that certainly isn't my best: THIS. although I'm not too proud of how crappy I drew AJ, I certainly think this is pretty good for my first time messing with water like this, and I'm proud of my shading job! I've only ever drawn fairly still ponds/lakes with a few ripply waves, so this is a pretty big jump lol. must say I had fun with the water, even though it consumed lots and lots of layers and effort.

my entry for the monthly contest with 5 hours to spare! WOOO!

I think the pic looks great! I do like the water, especially the tip of it. The crest? The white foam part? I dunno what its called lol.

it's just not too on-model for AJ, I didn't get the perspective quite right, and her head's proportionally too big here XP it's certainly better than how it first looked, but I'm hard on myself for my own good lol

I think it's the crest lol. thanks, the foam on the end of the curl was pretty difficult to achieve with one brush so I mixed several.

thanks, yeah I am very proud of my shading job. I'll thank DJ Coulz for that though, her tutorials are wonderful
