Simba had no regrets about taking Kovu in after Zira had carelessly offered her son up to the king as a sacrafice. He'd had two other options-- kill or let the pitiful cub go back with his loveless mother-- but he knew that this had been the best for Kovu. The cub was prospering, and now he would have two heirs to succeed him. As long as Zira didn't rear her ugly head again, life would be good.
