Simba's eyes fluttered up, brimmed with tears as he heard heavy paws walk towards him. He felt a glimmer of hope bubble up into his stomach, sending butterflies flying. Finally, his waiting was over.

His head turned to find his mother, her brows furrowed and mouth turned down into a concerned line. He let out a small, whimpering sob, ribs hurting from tears. "Simba?" His mother says softly, her amber eyes glowing down at him as she took a seat beside him. "I've b-been waiting for Uncle Scar all d-day," he whimpers, sucking down another round of tears. "He told me he would play with me today..."

Sarabi hugs the little cub tight, her eyes narrowing to the distance. Scar wouldn't get away with that.
