Safari had seen and greeted the newcomer to the Rogue Pride. Kikao. The name echoed in her mind.
Kikao.
Kikao.
Kikao.
For some odd reason she felt a strange twinge in her heart when she first talked to him. She didn't know what it was. Ever since she had lost her sister, she felt no more signs of love.
That was it! That's what she felt.
But why? Kikao had only just come that morning. It was nighttime and everyone was asleep; except for her. She lay down, watching the stars and the full moon. She sighed.
She lost her sister. She lost her family, her dignity and pride, everything. She only belonged here.
It was the first time she ever felt a pang of longing in her heart.
She wished she could be with Kikao until the day she died.
But she couldn't wish for that. She knew once she finally worked tooth and claw to achieve her goals, everything would be taken away from her again.
She couldn't wish for that... couldn't, couldn't, couldn't...
Could she?

When Kikao came into the Rogue Pride, Safari knew there was something about him that she liked.

Ooh... I see a potential mate coming here!
Kikao: He had met the rogue Pride and felt he could settle here nicely. Everyone was very friendly and he had met lots of lovely people. It was funny how he noticed the smallest of details in the Pride, how one member clearly wanted him to go away and how another almost fell faint at the sight of him. It had been a long time since a lioness fell faint at the sight of him!

As Safari lay thinking about him, she tried to push away her feelings of love. Why was she in love with a lion that had just come that morning? Bendera had been the one to want him to go away; Safari was the one who fell faint when she saw him.
The next morning, as everyone was awakening, Safari took a plump hare from the meat-pile and trotted over to Kikao. She blushed when she approached him. "Good morning," she said politely. She gently set the hare at Kikao's paws. "I brought this for you." Too embarrassed to say another word, she hurried away.
[Yeah, maybe Safari and Kikao can become mates? c:]

Kikao looked in surprise as the faint lioness gave him a hare. "Thanks!" he called after her, but she was gone.
