Sungura was always the grump. She was irritable, ill-tempered, surly, snappish, disagreeable, and sometimes a little impudent, though usually unintentionally. She didn't like fun or play.
It is hard to blame Sungura for her ill temper, though, when she was put through so many things. Her mother, a caracal, had cubs with a serval. Because of her "bad" bloodlines, she was known as a disgrace to her family. Her mother was cast out by her family, and so was Sungura.
When Sungura reached cubhood, she was a cheerful, lively, spirited little cub. But due to her mother's bitterness of being disowned, Sungura became sour-tempered as well. She never got along with her mother, or even liked her mother in particular. Not only the caracal nasty and angry all the time, but she was argumentative and disagreeable, with undisguised hatred towards her own cub.
Finally fed up with her mother, Sungura ran away from home, knowing that the churlish caracal wouldn't care one bit. She found a home on the savanna, but she had to avoid large animals like lions and leopards.
After a while she found a cozy den and took interest in a male in the area called Khalafu. She became mates with him and had a daughter named Alama. Unfortunately, Khalafu only wanted a son and left Sungura.
Heartbroken, she met another serval named Bashiri and had a cub for him, Hadhi. After a long while Bashiri died because he was bitten by a snake and was killed.
After a while she settled with Gheilani, a caracal. She grew attached to him and had Ituri with him. Gheilani, for unknown reasons, left Sungura to raise all three of her cubs on her own, not offering to visit or help raise the cubs.
Sungura vowed to never fall in love again, not after what happened to her.. she hasn't found love since.
