Maarifa flexed her claws, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
"We'll want to impress Mum and Dad, so we have to use some good hunting skills. Any ideas?" Maarifa said.
Tamu shrugged. "We just circle the prey and drive it in the middle. Then we just kill it. Problem solved."
Maarifa sighed exasperatedly. "Tamu, that would result in one of us being crushed," she said, her ears twitching with irritation.
"Oh. Well, can't we just stalk the prey and pounce?" Tamu asked.
"No, Tamu, it would hear or smell us. We'd have to keep downwind," Maarifa replied.
"Then we stay downwind and then pounce on it!" Tamu said happily.
Maarifa sighed again. "Tamu, it would hear us," she pointed out.
"Just say silent then!"
Maarifa felt her paws itching with annoyance. "Oh, yeah, sure, because it's possible to keep yourself completely silent on the savanna, when there are thorns to be stepped on and bracken to brush against."
"Oh, shush," Tamu snapped. "Let's just go!" And without waiting for a reply, she walked off.
Rolling her eyes, Maarifa followed, thinking of the countless things that could go wrong.
Maarifa and Tamu (Vitani and Msukumo's daughters) going on their first hunt. Tamu is so stubborn...
