As you will read now, Kuruka and Rangi's mother Faraja was the Queen of Drama. xD They're about a few weeks old in this picture. I tried to make them as cute as possible. Tell me if I succeeded~
Maono looks like crap omg his anatomy sssssssucks
And that little jackal in the corner, well, Zoketi knows who she is.
The reason behind their eyes? Genetics. Faraja's parents had blue and purple eyes, explaining why Rangi's eyes were blue and Kuruka's were purple. Kuruka is younger, so that's why Rangi's opened first.
Today was the day. Her cubs would finally open their eyes. Faraja was in the exact same cave they were born. Lion cub eyes opened before lion cub ears, so it would still be a while before they could say 'Mama' or 'Daddy'. She waited patiently, watching Rangi and Kuruka with excitement.
Excitement, until Rangi's eyes bursted open.
Blue.
"MAONO!" She screamed, panicking. Neither she or her mate had blue eyes. The white lion came over quickly, and gazed down at his eldest daughter, puzzled.
"Blue eyes." He whispered.
The jackal healer, Mganga, examined Rangi's eyes. "It could be just cub blue and it'll change, it could be a disease or it could be a sign."
"What if it's a curse? Does she have powers? We have to keep them separate! Will she kill Kuruka?" Faraja exclaimed.
"There's nothing wrong with blue eyes!" Snarled Maono.
Kuruka wiggled, and her eyes bursted.
"Violet." Muttered Maono.
"IT IS A CURSE!" Faraja exclaimed, in full panic mode. "Mganga, what's wrong with them?"
"There's nothing wrong!" Barked Mganga. "They're lively, talkative and fat, everything cubs should be."
"What did we do, Maono?"
