"It had been a bad buffalo season, and I was worried that lions would begin to starve. But suddenly we noticed a dust cloud in the distance, by the water. There were buffaloes there.
We all rushed forward. My hunting companions got in the attack position, but I couldn't move. You see, we had come near a small forest, and there I saw something so wonderful that I couldn't do anything but stare."
"What was it?", asked Simba curiously.
"The loveliest lioness I had ever seen", Mufasa replied.
"I went closer to see her better and asked her name. She told me that she belonged to a neighboring pride, and that her name was Sarabi. The name suited her perfectly, for it means 'mirage'. And I really felt like I had seen a mirage", Mufasa sighed.
"And after that you two got together?", Simba asked.
"Oh yes", Mufasa nodded.
"I asked Sarabi to come with me and become my mate. Although she was perhaps a little nervous at first, soon she began to trust me. And now she's been my best friend and the best mate in the world for many years."

The above story is from a book called "365 Histoires pour le Soir" (the original name). I have no idea of the English name. I have the Finnish version, so I translated the story from Finnish to English. Well, actually I didn't translate the whole story but most of it.
I think Mufasa and Sarabi are supposed to be young adults in this story, but I wanted them to meet as cubs, so...
