Posted: November 14th, 2011, 12:55 pmThe triplets had finally opened their eyes and begun to see the world around them. It was time to hold the ceremony. Their parents, Kiara and Kovu, were trying to decide which cub would be the next ruler.
Kiara: "I know it's a tradition that the oldest son will be the king... But why does it always have to be a boy? Shani was born first, why couldn't she be the future queen?"
Kovu: "Kiara, let's be realistic. She's the weakest of the triplets... She sleeps all the time. And she's so quiet... You heard what the shaman said. She might not make it to adulthood."
Kiara: "Don't speak like that, Kovu! She'll get stronger as she grows..."
Kovu: "We can't be sure. Look at our son. Chaka is healthy, strong and curious. He'd make an excellent king!"
Kiara: "Hmm..."
Kovu: "Kiara... If Shani was stronger, I would agree with you. But Chaka is a better choice, you know it."
Kiara: "Maybe you're right... I just hope Shani will understand."
Kovu: "I'm sure she will, honey."

The pale cub is Shani, the dark cub is Nama, and the one in the middle is Chaka.
